I'm having the same problem. Except that there is a 2D showing, but its only once a week.

I've already missed last weeks, so need to wait until Friday to see it!!

Truth be told, I found it better in 3D than in 2D. The space effects when in 3D make the movie unreal. Not all of the 3D version was actually in 3D, there were some scenes that I found the glasses to be redundant and others where they obviously were needed. The movie was great.

If I had the choice to watch it a 3rd time in 2D or 3D I would go for 3D all the way, its one of those movies where it actually works and is not used "for the sake of it".

I refuse to pay almost the same price as a blu-ray, to watch a film that wasn't shot in 3D, at the cinema. Anyone who claims they can't tell the difference in terms of picture quality, between 2D and these post-production 3D converted films, needs their eyesight testing. The conversion process vastly reduces the picture quality.

Since my last post, my local Cineworld have expanded the number of screens showing Thor in 2D, whilst reducing the number of 3D showings. Which is a good thing.

Caught the late preview last night. First understand that I've been looking forward to a worthwhile Thor movie since I was in Jr. High, and I'm now 61. That said -

HEMSWORTH!! IS!!! THOR!!!!!

This is one of the comic stories that could have gone dreadfully wrong, but it didn't. Chris Hemsworth nails Thor to the wall and the rest of the cast keeps up. Now all I can think of is what an epic battle they could make out of Thor vs. Hulk :)

Bring on Cap!!

well. The movie was pretty bad tbh. I dont know, I did expect something different. Was annoying most of the time. And in the very end, what the hell, wasnt iron man supposed to be on this sequel too?

No he wasn't, although they drop some hints, I think at the end of Iron Man 2, Stark was still a bit reluctant, it was all Fury's game all along, and we'll see Thor and Stark clash in the Avengers probably

I finally got round to watching it (in 2D), I don't think it was one of Marvel's best. But it was still a decent film.

The cup scene was great. We also had a huge laugh over the huuble telescope for some reason.

Anyone know why they threw Hawkeye in?

Because Hawkeye is an integral part of the Avengers, and he's in the Avengers movie for next year, it's all part of Marvels in-universe mythos dealio they are doing for all the movies leading up to the Avengers.

I don't remember Iron Man ever being mentioned as being in this film?

He's a given ;)

For those looking, Hawkeye was the guy with a bow in the crane gondola while Thor was fighting off SHIELD agents.

I didn't pick up on that.. but that's a great catch.

The cube was

in a scene after the credits...

.

As far as the movie?

I enjoyed it.

The Art of Thor movie companion book features images of the artifacts from Odin's vault -- which plays a major role in the Marvel Studios' film -- and may offer hints of the ever expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe.

759846878.jpg

Confirmed:

Eternal Flame (top, left) - Mystical flame that cannot be extinguished. It was stolen from Surtur by Odin, Vili, and Ve Borson at the dawn of time so that Surtur could not light his sword and bring about Ragnarok.

Infinity Gauntlet (right) - The Infinity Gauntlet was designed to hold six of the 'soul gems', better known as the Infinity Gems. When used in combination their already impressive powers made the wearer nearly invincible.

Warlock's Eye (bottom, center) - A powerful, mystical weapon used unsuccessfully against Odin, Thor and the Warriors Three during an invasion of Asgard.

Twilight Sword (not pictured) - Created by Surtur using the energy of the exploding home galaxy of the Korbinites, it was intended to set the universe afire. Later used as a power source by Loki & Morgan Le Fay.

Casket of Ancient Winters (not pictured) - Can reproduce the overwhelming frigidity of Niffleheim. It contains the fury of a thousand killing winters.

Rumored:

Orb of Agamotto (top, left center) - A scrying crystal ball used by Doctor Strange for clairvoyance. It has been known to open gateways between dimensions

Tablet of Life & Time (top, right center) - On the tablet was a biochemical formula for a serum, the so-called Lifeline Formula, which could rejuvenate, heal and grant its user the chance to reach the full evolutionary potential of its race turning the user into an immortal near omnipotent being.

    • Microsoft finally admits its default Windows 11 25H2, 24H2 action broke key legacy component by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. So far the company has acknowledged two known issues that have popped up after the release which include bugged-out Office apps as well as the Recycle Bin; though there could be more at play too. Speaking of bugs and issues, Microsoft seems to have finally acknowledged a problem that probably has been around for close to a year. That's because back in July of 2025 the company made a default change to the latest Windows 11 versions, wherein it switched to JScript9Legacy on Windows 11 24H2 and later releases. Hence following the release of version 25H2 in October 2025, JScript9Legacy also remained default-enabled. As a result there has been a compatibility issue ever since then. For those wondering, by switching to JScript9Legacy Microsoft intended to improve the security of modern Windows PCs by reducing vulnerabilities tied to legacy scripting like cross-site scripting (XSS), among others. XSS exploits can allow cyber-attackers to attach malicious code onto legitimate websites and use them to execute the code when a potential victim loads such a website. Hence the new JScript9Legacy engine enforced stricter execution policies and improved object handling, which should help mitigate such attacks. Microsoft today has published a new support article detailing the problem. Neowin spotted it while browsing. The company says that JScript global definitions and execution context may fail to persist across scripts, potentially breaking older dependent apps and web-based components that relied on this legacy behavior. In the article Microsoft has confirmed that the issue stems from its move away from the older jscript9.dll engine in favor of jscript9legacy.dll. As mentioned above, while the newer engine was designed to address vulnerabilities and strengthen security it also changes how JScript handles execution context. As a result functions and definitions loaded by one script could no longer remain available to subsequent scripts once execution ended. The company notes that some applications worked correctly on earlier Windows versions because the older JScript engine automatically retained global definitions and execution state between scripts. Under the newer model though that behavior is disabled by default causing certain legacy workloads and polyfill-dependent scripts to fail. Microsoft says it addressed the problem via the KB5077241 update though the fix had not been enabled automatically in the following updates. As such admins must explicitly turn on persistent JScript execution context using a Registry setting that the tech giant shared today. The configuration can be applied to individual processes or system-wide through the FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE registry key. The steps have been outlined below: Run the following command to create the feature control registry key: reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE" Under this key, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value. Configure the value as follows: To enable persistence for specific processes only: Set the value to 1 for each target process name. To enable persistence for all processes: Add * as the key name and set its value to 1. You can find the official support article here on Microsoft's website.
