[Help] Gift suggestions from the UK

Recommended Posts

My mother is currently in England for personal reasons and she's asking me what I what from there. The problem is I have no idea what I want and the area for her to buy is limited to London, or else I've asked her to get me some Brighton Rock :p . She usually gets me a few salt and vinegar crisps and fish and chips from one of the shops there, maybe a football item but I'm hoping for something more unique.

This question is more aimed at Neowin UK members, as I would actually like suggestions on what item that is considered to be wholly British. My mother did suggest in getting me a bowler hat and I'm considering it but I'm wondering what else is available. I would like to hear your suggestions, because at the moment at the top of my head, I'm considering to just ask her to get me LEGO for my collection. My sister, who lives there, is taking her family to LEGOland there and if I have no idea by then, I'm going to push her to get me the Millenium Falcon so I can put it on my desk :p !

Again, I would like to hear your suggestions.

I don't think there really is anything uniquely British, except maybe a box of tea bags, but I bet you can get them where you are anyway :p

No thanks :p . We use to buy Queen Anne back in the day but we've stopped already  .

She brings you Fish and Chips? All the way to Malaysia? That'll be well manky by the time it gets to you.

There is loads of places to shop in london. Go and get yourself some Mustard.

What about something James Bond-themed? :D

Don't get Brighton Rock unless you plan on keeping it, you can't bite off a bit because the rest of it gets sticky :p

She's not going to Brighton as it's too far. Too bad though, I have fond memories of staying there, especially playing on Brighton Pier  . As for the James Bond theme, what have you got in mind and where is it available?

Actually, they survive the flight. My sister orders McDonalds from Malaysia whenever a family or friend visits her and they turn out alright :p . As for mustard, I hate mustard  .

I hate mustard too, it's like it's rejected from the deepest bowls of hell for being too evil.

Yeah Brighton Pier rocks, spent the afternoon there on my birthday :D

Err, well I know you can get miniature versions of the cars out of the films, so I'm assuming there's other stuff as well. I would suggest the film collection on DVD but I'm sure you can get that in Malaysia. As for where, no idea, but if I had to say I'd suggest checking in WHSmith's.

And American Mustard is the only good kind :D

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
    • CPPC states can also be messed around with in most UEFI settings but aren't as robust as the ones that the Windows Scheduler can provide! Make sure you look into what your motherboard also has before customizing for the Windows Scheduler.
