Mirror's Edge (inspired by parkour and free running)

Major flaw in the post. This game will not use unreal engine 3, it will be using the new Frostbite engine. As far as I can tell, the Frostbite engine (when used in in Battelfield) isn't as beautiful as CryEngine2, but i hope that by the time this game comes out, it will be that and more!

It's definitely using Unreal Engine 3. Frostbite wasn't really much more than an idea when DICE started making this game, so they used Unreal.

I've read in a dutch magazine that the levels play out quite linear, i was hoping it'd be just an entire city and you have to get from point a to b in a mission, however you want to.

edit; just read the music is based on this song;

but was rewritten for the trailer. Edited by Remysaus

:o Amazing! I hope this game isn't coming out soon. I've already got Rock Band preordered, and there's only 9 days to go! I've also got MGS4 preordered. There's also Race Driver GRID. I'm gonna be really skint this year! :D

Hadn't heard of this game until i saw the movie and it looked awesome. It would be cool if you could actually fall off the building and still shoot at the enemy.

I showed my friends and they were wondering if the video really was in-game.

I say just wait for more updates and maybe a full on trailer. Hopelly a real release date. I will have to put this in my list of games for 2008, already got 10 games i want.. i will be poor soon lol

Looks good, although linear gameplay ruins the idea a bit. But being first person, it suppose it's limited a bit.

I think that how to get to place to place will be up to you. Kinda like Portal. You've gotta clearly get from A too B but you can do it in many ways. I'd imagine (and hope) that this is similar. But I guess ultimately it will be pretty linear.

Did I hear it right? You can't free roam around the city.....only specific paths you can take done by the creators?

Even if it is like that i dont care, as long as the levels keep getting harder, challenging and changing.... Like Portal

Also, most free roam games become repetitive way too fast...

i like that it has a set path with slight variations... i want to see the option of doing time attacks through levels! also having useless hidden areas that are only accessible to the most skilled would be awesome.

hopefully there are levels that there aren't any people at all getting in the way. shooting seems tacked on, hope it's only a minor part of the game. cos it seems cheap to slow down/stop when free running to kill someone. shooting them to disarm the threat as you speed past them would be ok.

edit: saw e3 demo... sweet, can complete without firing a single bullet. awesome. this game gets major respect from me.

omg... did i just say that about an EA game... the world is a very different place... i think i need to go outside and smell the flowers.

no, you didn't hear right

you need to get from point A to point B without getting caught. you can take whatever path you wish. the "red" runner vision is just to help you if you get stuck and can't figure out a way forward

    • I always thought the moon gets a lot of impact because there’s no atmosphere, so surely building a moon base is only going to end in disaster?

    • This piece of ###### is probably one of the most hated apps that ever existed.
    • Microsoft is bringing a much-needed Recap app to Teams, here is a first look by Usama Jawad Microsoft Teams is heavily used in work and school environments, and perhaps one of its core but extremely useful features is the ability to record meetings. In past years, Microsoft has further improved upon this functionality by integrating AI, but you do need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license to leverage most, if not all, all of those capabilities. Now, the Redmond tech firm is making another significant enhancement in the area of Teams meeting recordings. Up until now, if you wanted to access Teams recordings, you had to arduously locate the meeting invite and navigate to the dedicated tab, or go to the cloud storage location such as a SharePoint site. This was a rather overwhelming activity, especially if you don't remember the name of the meeting or the meeting occurred quite a while ago. Microsoft is now attempting to solve this problem through a dedicated Recap app that consolidates all your recordings. This centralized experience will allow users to find all recordings from the past 30 days and also offer access to other related services such as transcripts and AI-powered summaries. Customers will have the option to search for recordings, filter them, and review multiple meetings by generating AI-powered podcast-style recaps. The Recap app will list all available recordings in both thumbnail and list views. The former is shown below: And here is how Teams users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license can select multiple recordings to generate a podcast-style audio recap: Microsoft has emphasized that the Recap app is pre-installed in Teams but it will not be pinned by default. Users will able to navigate to the Teams app store from the left rail, and pin it from the apps section. It will be enabled by default for all users once it becomes available. It's worth noting that while Teams recordings and transcripts can be accessed by all users governed by existing permissions, AI-powered features like intelligent summaries, audio recaps, and video recaps will require a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. The Recap app will be generally available to Teams users on Windows, Mac, and the web by the end of next month, with mobile support coming soon.
