Mirror's Edge (inspired by parkour and free running)

also, look at www.on-mirrors-edge.com ... under the screenshot section, under miscellanious... some of those pics look abit portal-ish?

imagine... doing somersaults though portals... oh well maybe one day...

that sure as hell looks like portal. also, it has man-hands, so it was probably part of the concept prototype.

and then there's this...

From the first screenshots and movies I saw it reminded me of Portal, but that didn't temper my enthousiasm at all. I want this game bad, I only hope it's not as short as Portal, that would be a bummer, since Portal was quite easy and could be completed in a matter of hours, even the "harder challenge" rooms were pretty easy imho.

Can't wait for the 360 release. :-)

Thank you!

I really like the song, I think I will have to purchase the OST when it comes out.

first time i heard the song with vocals. sounds great. the instrumental with gameplay is equally as great

Seems Youtube are removing all the Mirrors Edge videos pretty swiftly not seen much of this game in motion, hope it's as good as everyone is saying :D

here are all of the Mirror's Edge videos you'll need

Yeah, Assasin's Creed.

This looks like the kind of game where everyone can play and feel cool n good at it, even if they're a beginner.

That's always a good sign.

not really

i hope it takes some skill to do stuff rather than in AC where its just hold down a trigger and you can do anything

I just played it on PS3, and wow. It is a great game, it is as good as it looks. Although some parts are hard to figure out, especially the last scene on the demo after the SWAT team shows up on the roof, you would never think that you would have to jump to hang off the rail of the chopper!

Really a nice game, as long as it is not repetitive, it will be a nice game. Although I don't think it is worth full game price, but let's see.. Get the demo on PSN!

What the heck is with that Portal video at the top of this page? The map is identical to that first level of Mirrors Edge..?!

"Sitting at my computer one day, I decided I should make a map in Hammer for the first time in a while. However, I had no inspiration until I saw the magnificent trailer for Mirror's Edge.

I decided I would try to make a copy of the level they showed at E3 in Hammer.

Yes, I'll release it when it's done. I might try and make it into a CSS map just for laughs."

    • Microsoft kills AI-powered history search feature in Edge by Usama Jawad In June 2025, Microsoft began rolling out AI-powered history search functionality with Edge 138. The idea was simple: allow customers to use natural language phrases and synonyms to find their desired history items rather than matching keywords exactly. Although the company had already rolled out this capability in a phased manner, it has now decided to cancel it. In an update on its Microsoft 365 Roadmap, Microsoft has announced that it has decided not to move forward with AI-powered history search. The company has not detailed the exact reasoning behind this move, but it has apologized to customers for the inconvenience. The move is rather interesting as it seemingly could have improved user productivity. Edge users wouldn't have to worry about typos or exact keywords, and just focus on what they were trying to locate in their browser history. Microsoft had also assured users that an on-device AI model would be leveraged for this functionality, and no data would be sent to the cloud. IT admins also had the ability to control its availability through the EdgeHistoryAISearchEnabled policy. When the feature began rolling out last year, many of our readers called it creepy, noting that they couldn't trust Microsoft to keep their data on their device. Others also questioned its usefulness, saying that it's simply a way for Microsoft to insert more AI bloat into its products. Although the Redmond tech giant had stated that it will be more mindful about surfacing Copilot features in Windows 11 apps, we later discussed how this is mostly a rebranding exercise rather than an actual axing of AI functionalities. Indeed, a Microsoft executive later emphasized how they want to reshape Windows for the agentic AI era. That said, it does seem like at least AI-powered Edge history search isn't a part of that vision.
    • For you to jump on and defend your sweetheart? I agree, it didn't.
    • Not likely, of course, that we will see routine citizenship checks as they only involve compliance with existing federal voting laws already on the books for decades. This seems a non-issue entirely. Only fools would have the government rush headlong into an AI program few can understand or predict, or even debug...
