Looking for an MP3 player without internal memory that takes SDHC.

Recommended Posts

I have a DS and use an M3 Real with 2gb microSD card, but find the battery lacking and moonshell (the media player for M3) slow and clumsy.

M3Sakura is a new system that is (eventaully) coming out for the M3 Real, but has been delayed. Apparently this has much better support for media files, but again the battery on my DS annoys me!

I will be receiving my Creative Zen (4GB) tomorrow, and I will try and post some videos and what not if it helps...

If i get a bit of spare cash i'm going to buy a 16gb SDHC card as I understand that although the Zen officially supports 8gb that some are getting 16gb to work without issus...

As for the Winamp plug-in, i'll be checking that one out no doubt!

I got my Creative Zen this morning and have been playing about with it all day.

Here's a quick run down for anyone interested:

Good points -

  • Being able to customize the menu system,
  • Clean and clear display with agreeable fonts for easy viewing,
  • A "custom" button configurable to any menu and some functions (I have set it to jump directly to the SDHC card),
  • Great menu system overall: Good animation, lovely themes (Green forest is my fave), nice and quick,
  • Fast loading of songs off the SDHC,
  • ID3 tag support for files,

Bad Points -

  • Not as loud as I would have liked (I used to own a Rio Carbon which was LOUD),
  • No Artist/Album/Genre options for the SDHC card (luckily I am anal about naming my tracks and foldering them),
  • More propriatry software needed to transfer to the internal memory (ignoring the internal only using SDHC so problem solved!),

I am looking forward to testing its battery life, and seeing how it copes with 16gb SDHC cards (class 6 all the way)!

I have the LG ENV9900 from Verizon. I just got an SD micro chip to add songs and create ringtones and transfer pics from my pc. I have the card reader and even formatted the chip so that when I insert the chip into my phone I can see the files listed under the settings and tools under 8. memory and then choose 3. card memory. There I can choose from my music, my pics, ect. and my files show there.

Where I am stuck is the part where I can actually get these files to play or display. When I choose a pic or a music file it doesn't give a play option, just an erase or move option. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

got an marquant 1 gig (yes it has internal memory and a screen) but it was VERY inexpensive and the battery life is abnormal..

i had it on loudest for several days (2 hours ~ 3 usage) soo yeah abnormal battery.. i only have it recharged 2 times... hook it up with the ps3 to watch some movies and thats about it

    • So, an article that has nothing to do with Windows 11, still gets Windows 11 in the title and a build number as the picture? Dell have a buggy build of Support Assist HP have UEFI settings that need unlocking for the secureboot cert upgrade to take place.
    • What I can't seem to understand is that Google are paying SpaceX? Surely it would be the other way round, with SpaceX needing Google's datacenters etc.? Oh well, this level of money and power is way outside of my comprehension at the best of times.
    • "77ee94b helium/windows: winsparkle updater (built-in auto-update support on Windows" If that's what I think it is, that is about the only thing that's been missing from this excellent browser. I guess I'll find out the next time I'm on a Windows machine.
