I came across this little application http://firefox-ultimate-optimizer.en.softonic.com/ and I was amazed as to how could this little application reduce the memory usage of FF from 70MB to merely 467KB :o
I tried it, and it actually does exactly what it states but how Is it possible..?
I personally find it a bit dodgy, either it hides the actually memory usage or something else.
what's your verdict on this chaps?
Here is what it claims to do
"Firefox Ultimate Optimizer and it's a small tool that drastically reduces the browser's craving for memory and CPU. The program doesn't have any configuration options and can only be set to launch with Windows if you have admin rights on your system.
Once launched, it will simply sit on the system tray and perform its task in an incredibly efficient way. Just open the Task manager window and see the difference between running Firefox with or without Firefox Ultimate Optimizer.
I have one single complaint: I'd like to be able to hide the system tray icon. But I guess that's a small detail that can be added that to the Wish List for future versions. In all, this is an excellent Firefox companion that makes me love my favorite browser even more."
Around 68% of developers are now using AI to generate code during development, and some experts are saying that a single developer using AI tools can now do the work of an entire team of 4 to 5 engineers.
According to Figma's State of the Designer 2026 report, 72% of designers now use generative AI in their workflows and 91% say it improves the quality of their work, not just their speed.
But does this mean web developers and designers are becoming less relevant, or are they simply evolving into a different kind of role?
Would love to hear from developers and designers here has AI made your job easier, or do you feel threatened by how fast these tools are improving
