artibatirae
Well, it's all dandy and stuff, but... is it possible to turn it off, if only temporary? (^_^); Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/637004-firefox-3-and-bilinear-filtering/ Share on other sites
Calum Veteran Posted May 15, 2008 Veteran Share Posted May 15, 2008 What is bilinear filtering in Firefox? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/637004-firefox-3-and-bilinear-filtering/#findComment-589400938 Share on other sites
artibatirae
It filters images when they're scaled up, smoothing them out. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/637004-firefox-3-and-bilinear-filtering/#findComment-589400941 Share on other sites
Calum Veteran Posted May 15, 2008 Veteran Share Posted May 15, 2008 (edited) Ahhh, I see. Thank you. I can't think of anything to suggest other than there may be an extension out there which can do this for you? Have you searched the Firefox Add-ons website? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ If there aren't any extensions for it yet, there may be one or two developed after the Firefox 3 final is released :) EDIT: Unless anyone knows any 'about:config' options which allow you to disable it? artibatirae
No mod for it. Was hoping there would be something in about:config, but can't find anything specific about it. Calum Veteran Posted May 15, 2008 Veteran Share Posted May 15, 2008 I just edited my post saying unless anyone knows any 'about:config' options to disable it, before I saw yours! :p lol. I've searched a bit for extensions and about:config options, but I can't find anythin anywhere. :/ Sorry. artibatirae
Heh! Still, kind of a shame. Some stuff just doesn't filter well. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/637004-firefox-3-and-bilinear-filtering/#findComment-589400969 Share on other sites
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted May 16, 2008 Veteran Share Posted May 16, 2008 Yeah, there isn't an option for it, it just checks to see if the scale isn't 1.0 Personally, I'd like to see them adopt the IE CSS rule for it, -ms-interpolation or something.
