Hi All,

After installing SP3, which comes with Remote Desktop 6.0 i have been experiencing a problem.

When in remote desktop, it will be fine, and then randomly whenever i press the E key it will act as if sticky keys is stuck on, and so will open Explorer, or when i press D it will display the desktop.

Sticky keys is not enabled, neither are Filter Keys and i have double checked this. And this is not affected for anybody else running remote desktop 6, but i am using this with SP3, and i only have the issue?

Typically it's the windows key that gets stuck for me when connecting over RDP. I Uuually load the on-screen keyboard on remote system and see if the key is on. Could be a similar fix for you.

Hi,

As found on experts-exchange:

"This is a bug in RDP client 6.0 (occasionally RDP 5.2 also showed that behaviour).

We asked MS, they know about the problem but they won't fix it. period.

Sometimes it helps to bash the Windows key or Alt or Ctrl multiple times.

It?s a Remote Desktop 6 bug which Microsoft don?t intend fixing it seems."

What did the trick for me:

"1. Close the RD window

2. Open new RD but make sure the "Apply Windows key Combinations" is set to "On the remote computer"

3. Now press the Ctrl+Alt+End and lock the computer

4. Log in again and it should work."

Happy days!

The well-known problem regarding "stuck" CTRL+ALT key sequence has now been officially fixed for Vista and Server 2008/R2 client systems.

KB978829 has been published and addresses the fix in more detail.

The hotfix can be downloaded via the following URL:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978829

This problem manifests itself under the following conditions:

1. when connecting via Windows Remote Desktop Connection to a remote system (physical or virtual)

2. Locking the host machine (machine from which you are connecting) with CTRL+ALT+DEL sequence

3. Transient network disconnection occurs

4. Unlocking the host machine thereafter

Users find that typing the DEL key on the target machine (such as in a Word or notepad document) causes the target session to be locked as though CTRL+ALT+DEL had been typed.

A fix for XP SP3 is currently being proposed and analyzed, but no guarantees when or if it will be released, at this time.

I found this in another forum but I forget which.

"There are often problems with ALT GR key combinations in the Remote Desktop client (mstsc.exe).

To make this work as expected for XP:

Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages Tab -> Details Button

In the Dialog "Text Services and Input Languages" press the Button "Key Settings". If that button is disabled, just add another language with the "Add" button.

In the "Advanced Key Settings" dialog press "Change Key Sequence" for "Switch between input languages".

In the "Change Key Sequence" Dialog uncheck "Switch keyboard layout" and confirm the change through the series of dialogs.

Remove the extra language if you like."

    • Ocenaudio 3.20.0 by Razvan Serea Ocenaudio is a full featured, fast and easy to use audio and music editor. It is the ideal software for people who need to edit and analyze audio files without complications. Ocenaudio also has powerful features that will please more advanced users. To assist ocenaudio development, a powerful toolset of audio editing, analysis and manipulation called Ocen Framework was created. ocenaudio is also based on Qt framework, a well known library for cross-platform development. Cross-platform support ocenaudio is available for all major operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Native applications are generated for each platform from a common source, in order to achieve excelent performance and seamless integration with the operating system. All versions of ocenaudio have a uniform set of features and the same graphical interface, so the skills you learn in one platform can be used in the others. VST plugins support Ocenaudio supports VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins, giving its users access to numerous effects. Like the native effects, VST effects can use real-time preview to aide configuration. Real-time preview of effects Applying effects such as EQ, gain and filtering is an important part of audio editing. However, it is very tricky to get the desired result by adjusting the controls configuration alone: you must listen the processed audio. To ease the configuration of audio effects, ocenaudio has a real time preview feature: you hear the processed signal while adjusting the controls. The effect configuration window also includes a miniature view of the selected audio signal. You can navigate on this miniature view in the same way as you do on the main interface, selecting parts that interest you and listening to the effect result in real time. Multiselection for delicate editions To speed up complex audio files editing, ocenaudio includes multi-selection. With this amazing tool, you can simultaneously select different portions of an audio file and listen, edit or even apply an effect to them. For example, if you want to normalize only the excerpts of an interview where the interviewee is talking, just select them and apply the effect. Eficient edition of large files With ocenaudio, there is no limit to the length or the quantity of the audio files you can edit. Using an advanced memory management system, the application keeps your files open without wasting any of your computer's memory. Even in files several hours long, common editing operations such as copy, cut or paste happen almost instantly. Fully featured spectrogram Besides offering an incredible waveform view of your audio files, ocenaudio has a powerful and complete spectrogram view. In this view, you can analyze the spectral content of your audio signal with maximum clarity. Advanced users will be surprised to find that the spectrogram settings are applied in real time. The display is updated immediately when altering features such as the number of frequency bands, window type and size and dynamic range of the display. • It's because we aren't gonna see any new consumer stuff til mid-2028 at the earlier. Apparently they want TSMC purely for the AI stuff and an Intel foundry to produce the consumer cards, when it's eventually ready. AMD will prob have a good 6+ months head start but not like it matters, their game support is dire at present.
    • Maths def ain't this guys strong suit... "Thus, in terms of performance, the RTX 5090 SE could be right in the middle of the 5090 and the 5080."
