Spinoff could take over where the main show left off?

Radha: Dollhouse's chances of renewal are reportedly slim. Please, please say it isn't so! Do you have any happier news?

You know that 14th episode of Dollhouse that's set in a post-Apocalyptic universe and that won't be appearing on Fox network but will be included on the season-one DVD? Well, no one's officially confirming anything, and this is all still entirely in the theoretical dreamy dream stage, but reliable sources tell us exclusively that spinning off "Epitaph One" into a new series is "not exactly outside the realm of Joss? master plan." So even if Dollhouse proper doesn't get a pickup for season two, there might still be an alternate Dollverse for us to play in. What do you think of that?!

That might be cool, but I don't see this on fox.

That might be cool, but I don't see this on fox.

Joss might be contracted to Fox this is the reason his shows are always on there...he might not have a say in it but if Dollhouse gets cancelled then he will probably begin to shop his wares elsewhere.

DVD Details

The Dollhouse season one DVD will include the show's unaired pilot and its unaired finale (and all the episodes in between that Fox thought were OK enough to put on the air).

In a DVD set that reflects the show's rocky history, the Dollhouse home video set features commentary from creator Joss Whedon, the original pilot "Echo" and the unaired 13th episode, "Epitaph One." Plus there's the usual accompaniment of bonus making-of featurettes.

The Fox series from 20th TV is available on DVD and Blu-ray on July 28. Here's the inventory:

? Disc One

o Ghost

? Commentary by Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku

o The Target

o Stage Fright

o Gray Hour

o True Believer

? Disc Two

o Man on the Street

? Commentary by Joss Whedon

so the 12th episode was the last one? whats up with ep 13?

I've been wondering the same thing for a while. But I just thought it was because they're probably canceling the show and they didn't want to air it. I remember there was a couple episodes like that for Firefly as well- they canceled Firefly and it still had some episodes that hadn't been seen. I don't know if Fox has said anything about why they're not showing it, but if they did I guess I wasn't paying attention.

They ordered for 13 and only decided to show 12 I think because 12 rounded the series story off nicely and 13 started a new arc...but that's a think I am sure someone will correct they seem to enjoy that lately :p

13 is set way into the future.

In an underdog comeback that blows away NBC?s will-they-or-won?t-they hand-wringing over ?Chuck? (psst, they almost certainly will), sources say Fox is -- and this could change before Monday's upfront presentation -- leaning toward bringing back Joss Whedon?s ?Dollhouse? next fall.

The low-rated Friday night show was last seen given up for dead by the media in a field somewhere.

But its DVR numbers are strong, online streaming is strong. It?s a sci-fi show, which tend to bring in nice ancillary revenue such as DVD sales for sister-company studio 20th TV. And it?s said that Fox execs rather like the series, especially the latter half of the season. Besides, a show airing in the fall on Fox is a bit like running in midseason on most networks -- it?s not their strongest part of the year and maybe ... maybe ...

All right, fine.

A ?Dollhouse? pickup would be stunning, and tough to explain based on the show's ratings, which concluded at a 1.0 among adults 18-49. Maybe Fox executives are just sick of being vilified on Whedonesque.com. Maybe Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly, who wisely renewed ?The Office? at NBC after a disastrous first season, knows something we don?t.

Either way, we love that the ?Dollhouse? decision is turning from a presumed demise into an 11th-hour negotiation. To paraphrase Hannibal Lecter: The broadcast world is a more interesting place with Joss Whedon in it.

What?s to talk about?

Well, money, of course.

Fox wants ?Dollhouse? cheaper.

All the networks want every show cheaper this year, if they can haggle it.

Which night "Dollhouse" would air on is unclear, though hopefully the series will not return to Friday. It's tough to see "Dollhouse" surviving a summer hiatus followed by a return to the Friday gulag.

Fox's official decision could go down to the wire before Monday; will post updates this weekend if the winds shift, but as of Friday morning ... the rough draft plan of Fox's fall includes Joss Whedon's show.

If this is true, and they renew this show with the awful ratings it had and they don't renew TSCC then Fox really is *******.

The fact the publicity around this surviving being bare to none and the publicity surrounding TSCC has been immense they won't renew Dollhouse without renewing TSCC as well.

The only thing that worries me is that there hasn't be a single piece of info on Terminator. But info on the other shows are finding there way online- Well I don't know if it's a good thing or not. I know that Josh Friedman told everyone not to say anything about the show after Terminator won the Eonline poll. So right now I just want some info good or bad just so we can know something.

Dollhouse has been picked up for another 13 episodes. =D

I guess this is good news for Doll House but I just don't understand how they got renewed, but we haven't heard a single thing about TSCC. The ratings for Doll House went to crap once TSCC went off air. I'm still hoping that no info on TSCC is a good thing.

    • A few weeks ago, I had this same exact issue. Unfortunately, I didn't think of disabling the Secure Boot option in BIOS. I updated my BIOS to the latest version for my MB and it resolved the issue.
    • I have a partial answer, when I used a multi-port usb hub I had degraded speed performance with 3 large external hard drives connected. I managed to snag a nice (yet older) USB3 wavelink hub that had about x6 usb 3 ports and almost doubled the speed of the external hard drives transfer rate. This looks to be a slightly upgraded model -https://ebay.io/m/LZtjTy
    • Microsoft faces shareholder lawsuit over masking AI costs and slowing Azure growth by Karthik Mudaliar Microsoft is facing a class action lawsuit from shareholders who allege that the company intentionally overhyped its artificial intelligence initiatives to distract from slowing cloud revenue and an exploding infrastructure bill. The complaint was filed in a Seattle federal court by the Michigan-based City of St. Clair Shores Police and Fire Retirement System. The plaintiffs argue that Microsoft’s leadership painted an overly optimistic picture of its Copilot rollout and complex OpenAI partnership. They say that the company did this while downplaying the harsh reality that building the data centers required to power these next-generation tools requires a huge amount of capital. Back at the company's Q2 2026 earnings report from late January, Microsoft revealed that its flagship Azure cloud growth had slipped to 39% (down from 40% the prior quarter) and guided investors to expect a further deceleration to 37% or 38% for the first three months of 2026. Now, under normal circumstances, a slight percentage point drop in cloud growth is a minor operational hiccup. But the Redmond giant paired that guidance with $37.5 billion in quarterly capital expenditures. This figure, which is a 66% year-over-year surge, blew past any analyst estimates at that time. Much of this amount went into buying high-priced GPUs and custom silicon that were required to train and run large language models. This is why the market reacted violently and just a day after its earnings call on January 29, the company's stock plummeted 10%, and wiped out $357 billion of capital in just a trading session. Microsoft is doing better now, though. Its Q3 2026 results showed its run rate from its AI business was hitting $37 billion, proving that enterprise demand for its infrastructure is very real and continuing to scale. Microsoft isn't the only company pouring billions into infrastructure for the AI boom. We've seen most Big Tech companies, including Amazon and Google, also get the results of these **** with stronger-than-ever growth and increased income. via Reuters
