PS3 Trophies coming in June?

Sony fact sheet sparks release rumours for XBL Achievement-like trophies

New rumours about PlayStation 3 Achievements are flying around, with one site speculating that a trophy system will launch as early as next month.

According to this PSU report, 2D trophies located on the PS3's XMB may launch this June with firmware version 2.4 (which should also introduce in-game XMB access). These trophies are reportedly different to the 3D ones set to feature in Home later this year.

Another report over on ...

Yus, interesting isn't it.

There's also some reports somewhere that it is going to be released along side MGS4.

Let me find it.

More FW 2.4 Rumors: Konami Pushing Sony for Trophy Support?

From reading my site, you know that I have some friends in the industry.

What I have been told is that Konami is heavily pushing Sony to hurry up and get 2D trophies, and in game communication, ready in time for the release of MGS4.

MGS4 is all ready to be released so what could Konami have up their sleeve big enough to persuade Sony to getting going, and release those features?

Here is a hint at what might be able to push Sony to move a little faster.

[Ocelot's voice]

Yes.

We just finished the press conference.

Yes.

Everything went according to plan.

Yes.

We?re entering into the last phase of the mission.

Do you want to execute the launch-day surprise?

Yes, that?s right.

Akihabara, New York, L.A?.

Live, simultaneously throughout the world?.

Yes, it?s under control.

The VIPs are happy to participate.

Yeah, that?s right.

That person.

Yes, sir, understood.

So on June 12th?

By the way, what should we do about ?The Project??

Yes, that?s correct.

That man has fallen.

It?s about the sequel.

Yes, indeed.

Yes.

Yes.

Yeah.

I see.

Yes, sir.

Mr. CEO.

I hope its true, lol.

This speculation game is nice and all, but we really need to get Home out... and soon.

Couldn't have said it better.

Although I would welcome these trophies even if in 2D just now - At least it's behind the scenes progress materializing into something physical for us, rather than just "we're working on it, it's coming soon".

Also the big PS3 exclusives are crying out for the first games to get trophies/content in Home - It's no surprise if true, that Konami are pushing Sony to support MGS4 in every way possible for release.

This could also be utter crap, but I'm still hoping its true.

Insider: Exclusive information about 2.40 and beyond

Hey its me, whoelse again! Before I start, I need to say one thing. All of the following information has come from an insider I am in contact with and everything isn?t ?set in stone?. Things can change a lot, especially when it involves Sony. If any of the information is wrong, its because plans have changed and not because it was made up.

2.40 should include:

* Access your XMB chat features from any game.

* 2D trophies from the XMB where 70% of current titles will support them straight away

* Video Coding and groundwork for the Movie Store (Out Sept)

My insider says 2.40 should arrive before MGS4 comes out however not all of the above features will 100% make it into the update.

Oh and Online Co-op for Super Stardust HD is in the works.

    • The memory and nvme can be swapped and upgraded with standard parts. But the GPU cannot, which is the weakest part of the box. It's a dead product at these prices.
    • Sounds like the debloated build you are running is missing some components that the Photos app and Snipping Tool rely on.

    • Apple and Tesla trade secrets reportedly exposed following a Tata Electronics cyberattack by Hamid Ganji Image via Depositphotos.com Tata Electronics has confirmed that it detected a cybersecurity incident in some of its systems. The Indian company is a manufacturing partner of both Apple and Tesla, and the incident may have exposed some trade secrets belonging to the two American companies. The World Leaks ransomware group is said to be behind the attack, and it has reportedly posted up to 200,000 files on the dark web, including component designs and specification documents related to Apple and Tesla products. Tata Electronics told Reuters that its response protocols were deployed immediately and that the “incident has had no impact on our operations across businesses, which remain unaffected.” The ransomware group reportedly sent a ransom demand to Tata Electronics, while Apple has launched an investigation into the incident. World Leaks claims it stole more than 200,000 files totaling over 630GB from Tata Electronics. Some database files on the ransomware group’s website are titled "com.apple.factorydata," which could refer to Apple’s iPhone production operations in India. Moreover, some documents reportedly contain material specifications and quality inspection standards for iPhone circuit board components. However, Apple is not the only affected company. A folder found in the World Leaks database is titled "NV36 Chargeport Controller - North America," which may refer to Tesla Model Y components. Additionally, other files in the database reportedly contain drawings related to Tesla’s Project Highland, the internal codename for the EV maker’s updated Model 3 sedan. To support the authenticity of the stolen files, World Leaks has published documents containing footers that read: "This document contains proprietary and confidential information of Apple Inc." and "information contained herein is deemed confidential, proprietary, and a trade secret of Tesla Inc." Cybersecurity researcher Rajshekhar Rajaharia told Reuters that the database also contains emails, event logs spanning several years, and passport copies of employees, including foreign nationals. Both Tesla and Apple have declined to comment on the scale of the incident.
