I LOVE Prince of persia trilogy, and I'll never forget all those pleasure hours I spent exploring that world.

But, I really doubt the movie will follow the original plot of the game, since it's Disney, and you all know how commercial the can be.

They already started with giving the Prince a name, since when he has a name? and who made the choice? :ermm:

For Jake Gyllenhaal, playing Prince Dastan in Jerry Bruckheimer's epic Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, due May 28, 2010, was a chance to get into some serious action. (Paparazzi photos of Gyllenhaal on-set have appeared previously, but this is the first official shot of him in character.) "I'm tired of taking myself so seriously," says the actor, who found himself sword-fighting, climbing walls, and jumping off of buildings as part of the prince's quest to find an enchanted dagger and turn back time. "It's nice when a stuntman turns to you and is like, 'Actors don't normally do this.'"

The trailer for Disney's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will be seen in theaters on November 13th, but ComingSoon.net got a sneak peak at the upcoming preview of the epic action-adventure, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, Gemma Arterton, Alfred Molina and Toby Kebbell.

The movie is based on the popular video games and tells the story of a prince (Gyllenhaal) who reluctantly teams up with a mysterious princess (Arterton) to protect a dagger from an evil ruler who wants to unleash The Sands of Time, an ancient weapon that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.

The two-minute trailer starts off with a glimpse of the mythical land of Persia, which looks stunning, and then a brief look at the dagger that's enclosed in a glass case.

"Have you ever wondered how you could have found such a treasure? The gods have a plan for you. A destiny," we hear the princess saying as short clips of the scenes mentioned above play on the screen.

We then see Gyllenhaal jumping off a cliff and a few seconds later climbing a wall with arrows as his stepping stones. Someone shoots at him and he turns around looking nervous but annoyed as well.

"The sand turns back time," the audience is told a few seconds into the trailer. "Only the holder of the dagger is aware of what's happening."

A quick clip is is shown of the prince holding the dagger and turning into sand.

"Only the dagger can unlock the sands of time. There are those who would use this power to destroy the world," Arterton's character explained. "The only way to stop this Armageddon is to take the dagger to the secret guardian temple."

Although the footage we saw was brief, which made it difficult to see where the story is going, the rivalry and tension between the prince and princess was very clear. Their witty banter was entertaining and well-written.

"You really enjoy telling me what to do don't you?" Gyllenhaal's character sarcastically asks.

"Only because you're so good at following orders," the princess quickly snaps back.

"Don't press your luck. The Sands of Saint, they strike terror into the heart of all they cross," he replies.

"Such a noble prince - leaping to assist the fallen beauty," she says.

"Who said you were a beauty," he laughs.

"There must be some reason why you can't take your eyes off me," she says.

He then tries to say something but begins to stutter, not knowing how to respond to the princess' feisty comebacks.

Next up was a scene showing a wicked force holding a snake.

"The high temple is guarded by some sort of demon," the princess said.

The following scene was the two with a group of people walking. She asks where the dagger is and he tells her, "You're welcome to search me for it. You need to be very thorough."

She looked intrigued by his scandalous offer, but tried to pretend like she was irritated by him.

The final clip in the trailer was the prince fighting off a rather large snake and the mouth of the reptile was open and about to bite him.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time hits theaters on May 28, 2010. Stay tuned for when the trailer comes online!

Well, it definitely looks like they haven't spared any expensive with the CGI. But, there are some scenes that make me think some of that money was wasted.

I'll see the movie regardless as I get to see them for free, but it looks like the movie is going to follow all of its game-to-movie predecessors. :pinch:

    • I understand the position Valve is in with hardware pricing thanks to the AI bubble, but as others have said, this is DOA at this price point. There's no world in which a machine at that performance level is worth that price. My girlfriend's a console gamer and after meeting me, wanted to try PC but wanted something she could use on her TV with a controller. The Steam Machine is basically tailor made for her, but only at what it would have cost before the hardware crisis. I took my old Lenovo Legion laptop with a Ryzen 5800H and a 3060 Mobile 8GB, put Bazzite on it and it does the same thing with the games she's interested in very well. She still likes the Steam Machine, but won't be touching it until component prices are back in the sane range. I know Valve isn't a charity, but I don't know why they're not willing to at least partially subsidize this device or even take a loss on it during the component crisis, just to build some market share. Then again, the Steam Deck is also a complete ripoff at its current price and they can barely keep them in stock so...
