I caught up on a bunch of the last few episodes.

But the last one, god that was a good episode, why does it take the last series and half way through it to finally get back to what Stargate use to be like, a good storyline, bad guys, action.

This is what we have wanted all this time, I can only hope Stargate Universe will be good when it comes out, the premise of it sets it up so that a huge amount of different things can happen.

I looked at the spoilers as I couldn't resist, Totally chuffed that the asgard are coming back too, I was really annoyed when they destroyed themselves at the end of SG-1, they were a great race throughout the series.

It kind of made sense what they did in SG-1.

They were a very powerful race with near limitless power, intelligence, and technology. Their ships dwarfed anything comparable in size and power, so its only befitting that their one weakness: cloning, was their undoing.

I'm not saying it wasn't their time to go, just that I really liked them and didn't like how they just got rid of them in the last episode, they might have lead up to it slightly in earlier episodes, but it kinda just happened, at least in my mind and it disappointed me.

And as you put it, they were essentially the last powerful race, yet couldn't get over their problems, which is a bit silly, but maybe I'm just in a bad mood cause I miss Thor, lol.

ah...easy end

i found it too easy to destroy the asgard ships

Not really...

They already have all of Asgard's data on their technology and already implemented them on their own ships. Makes sense they should be able to defend their ships from the Asgard attacks.

These current Asgard's have been living in isolation, so its safe to assume their technology didn't progress as much as the Asgard's from the Milky Way galaxy because those Asgard's worked with other civilizations to advance their technology, especially in the fight against the replicators. Remember all those episodes were the good Asgards and Sam/Daniel worked together from SG-1.

and that was a badass episode :)

That was a pretty impressive two parter. Skimming the gateworld episode guide's short descriptions, I don't see anything about them coming back, though.

Pity this show was canceled. There's so little good stuff left on TV. Oh well, the story might make for a good Atlantis movie.

I wouldn't say it was the best 2 parter ever, but it was a damn fine couple of episodes. They handled the reveal much better than I thought they would actually. It's really to bad that we won't see the asgard again (unless they are the bad guys in the series finale episode) until the Atlantis movies now. Bleh.

if it was the daedelus that would have been true, but this was some traveler junk ship going against them and destroying 2 ships.

Didn't the travelers capture one of the Anicents war ships? It's likely it had information on those Agards too. Same type of shield and weapons blast were seen in this episode.

...but I know what your saying. The Asgards should be able to put a fight considering their "smart" and stuff. But, just think back to when Atlantis's bullets were able to bring down one of the Asgard suit. But, when they tried to cut through it...it wasn't possible. So, there were some irregularities in the episodes.

I haven't read about it, but I can't help but feel that Todd will be the bad guy. He left on pretty iffy terms.

Also, anyone else feel that the Asgard ship didn't look like an Asgard ship?

Every other Asgard ship we've seen have had similar design elements: Two vertical 'pillar' things towards the back. Maybe it was an Ancient ship?

No, I doubt Todd will be the enemy in the series finale. If it isn't the asgard, it'll probably be the wraith in general (though I very much doubt it) or maybe Michael again. If not, there aren't many known enemies that they can do a major story about at this point.

And yes, most asgard ships looked like the White Stars from Babylon 5 (imo anyways) and this ship didn't really look like a normal asgard ship.

The Asgard seen in the past two episodes branched off from the Asgard of the Milky Way Galaxy. If I remember correctly, they were stuck on an arid and toxic planet for more than 10,000 years. That makes sense because they knew about the ancient device, and the Wraith known as Todd mentioned that he was around (10,000 years ago) when the Attero device was first activated. It's possible that the Pegasus Asgards didn't advance in technology as much as the Milky Way Asgards. Maybe that's the ships they had 10,000 years ago. After all, that is a long time and surely such an advanced race would progress technologically. It's also possible that those Asgard stole Ancient ships. We saw the same "yellow" shields and similar pulse type weaponry. Also, the ship resembles a puddle jumper in the sense that it retracts to wing-like structures.

I thought both episodes were great. It was nice to finally see something other than the Wraith. I admit, the Asgard revelation caught me by surprise. I totally didn't see it coming.

Anaron got the history pretty much right on the dot.

Its very likely that the massive and technologically advanced ships that Thor and the others had were superior due to ongoing

research that the "lost tribe" never had the chance to do. Being stuck on that inhospitable planet could have hindered their efforts

to progress more than a few "ages".

Wicked cool suits though :D

Last episode... ZZzz...

yeah I can't even be bothered to watch this weeks since I heard it was a clip show. I don't tune in to see the "new" series of a show only to be fed what essentially a bunch of repeats with a half baked story wrapped around them.

If they need to save money then I'd much rather they missed a show entirely
