Yea, I watched it last weekend. While it was a good Stargate episode, the writing made me sick. They took advantage of the Sci-Fi aspect way to much, not to mention killed off a lot of the improvements SG-1 had worked towards. There were so many plot holes that they just bandaged up with the whole, hey, its stargate, sure that's possible. Instead of wasting half the season with fillers they could have been writing episodes that would fill in these blanks in the finale. Showing McKay working on his worm drive would be a great episode, hell it would be a great scene just for a few minutes. That way we wouldn't be wonder where the **** that came from in the finale. Also killing General Hammond character? Was that really necessary?

I really hope Universe is a complete 180 when it comes to writing because if its anything like these last few, I won't be tuning in.

That I didn't know, but even still. It's not like we were going to run into him on that final episode..

It was a tribute to the person that played the character, who died suddenly of an unexpected hart attack. It was probably the one thing I liked most about the episode.

i agree, I quite liked that he was mentioned, I thought it was a very fitting tribute to such a great actor/character

Just watched the finale tonight on Sky1. To be honest it could have been better, it felt somewhat rushed - I think they could have at least squeezed everything into a two hour/part special!

I watched by the magic of the web, I can't stand sky1 with all the ad breaks.

Hey

Sorry to jump in so late...

Over the last few weeks, I watched all of Stargate Atlantis. I had previously watched season 1 but slipped. Seasons 3 and 4 got pretty good with some decent story arcs, but by season 5 I was reading synopsises online and picking which episodes sounded worthy.

I kinda liked the idea behind the "Las Vegas" episode, bit of fun...

But then the finale - what a joke! Everything just seemed to fall into their laps. Let's invent a new unheard of and ultimately not possible technology to use as a plot device to simply wrap things up really quickly. Possibly one of the worst finale's I have watched.

And yes, I know I admitted to chopping the seasons up and only watching the episodes that were of interest but...

What happened to Michael? The last episode I saw of him was the one where a puddlejumper was cloaked in the Hive ship, which mysteriously disappeared. We know Michael knew the team were aboard. It can be assumed he escaped in it, but is this continued?

He got killed, 14th episode of the 5th season.

It really fell apart quickly in the end. Shame, but the early seasons are still good so we can be thankful for that :) I really hated the Michael story arc. The Todd one was better but still pretty weak. SG1 was equally bad when they created the Ori.

I dunno I just re-watched Camelot the other day (the S9 SG-1 finale) and man the last 9 minutes of the show were just jaw dropping.

Seriously, we get an awesome 7 minute or so long battle with the Ori ships that just OBLITERATE them (including the Asguard ouchies). That's some sweet SFX and action right there folks lol plus it was the perfect cliff hanger leading into S10.

    • Waymo recalls self-driving software after cars enter closed freeway work zones by Paul Hill Waymo, the self-driving car maker owned by Alphabet – the parent company of Google –, has recalled some of its fifth-generation Automated Driving Systems (ADS). It did so after some of its cars drove through closed construction zones. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles were capable of driving through a closed freeway construction zone and continuing to drive at speed. The listing on the NHTSA website says that Waymo is currently developing a solution to fix this issue, but in the meantime, freeway driving is being restricted. Waymo will update its ADS software so that vehicles can detect when they can avoid entering construction zones. According to the Safety Recall Report, on April 20, 2026, Waymo’s Field Safety Committee began meetings reviewing an event from April 11, 2026, and five events from April 19, 2026, where Waymo’s autonomous vehicles didn’t recognize and drove past ramp closure signs into the pre-planned freeway construction zones. This took place in Phoenix, Arizona. Separately, on May 18, 2026, seven Waymo vehicles entered freeway lanes with active construction in the San Francisco Bay Area by driving between cones that were placed to show the lane was closed. On the back of both of these events, Waymo restricted freeway driving until it could address the issue. In June, Waymo’s Safety Board reviewed the issue and additional information related to ADS performances around construction zones; then, as a result, it decided to conduct a recall. This development is not good for Waymo as it adds to a growing list of technical hiccups its cars have experienced. Ultimately, it will lead to more scrutiny from lawmakers around the world who will be more cautious about letting autonomous vehicles on their roads without tighter regulation. For readers in areas where Waymo operates, does this news make you more wary about stepping into one of these vehicles?
    • I'm still on Windows 10 22H2 because I didn't want to deal with all the issues in Windows 11, so I waited almost a week before installing the latest Patch Tuesday update (KB5094127), I went ahead and did it, and it was a huge mistake—ever since then, my File Explorer has seen a performance drop of about 30% when transferring large files... Once again, Microsoft has outdone itself! This update cannot be uninstalled, either through the Control Panel (via Settings) or by accessing Advanced Startup Options. The only possible alternative would be to use system restore points, but I’d have to reinstall all app and driver updates (and there’s no guarantee it would work). Or there’s the “nuclear option” of a in-place repair without losing files or apps, but even then, all my customizations would be lost! Microsoft just can’t help but mess everything up! Way to go, Microsoft! But I still don’t want your c****y Windows 11!
