What does the method used to change a username have to do with how window does file shares?

There are multiple ways to change a username in linux and os x as well.

Good info, anyway, note I never said Linux or Mac OS are better than Windows.

Too many things. IMO, Windows look like a very old software patched too many times. They just add and add things and keep the old ones, so they end with a Windows with 3 or 4 utilities for change your user name, 2 or 3 different places where you can change sharing rules, etc. Maybe they are adding another additional window for manage sharing in Windows 7? for the love of God!

If they make a real new Windows, they could make the sharing/permissions/security thing in just one unique window doing the job from newbie to advanced user in a very easy and useful way. This will also make Windows lightweight.

The control panel is designed for home users, for an easy way to add new accounts (and change their permissions)

the MSC snap-in is designed for administrators, they fulfil two different (and needed) design ideas)

I don't believe anybody suggested you were saying that Linux or Mac OS was better, but I would like to know what you are basing your judgement of Windows networking on?

Oh! so BudMan was owning me? I thought he was helping me. This is not CounterStrike where you own people with headshots, this is a community forum where people help each others, at least that's the way I see it.

On-topic, well, some people have a very simple thinking, they think if you love something, you should hate the competitor, and viseversa. That's not the way my brain works. My brain see everything individually and without comparisons. So, I can say Windows AND Linux are good or bad at the same time.

IMO, comparing Linux/Windows/Mac are completely ridiculous. I see all three as separated and totally different softwares. I started this topic talking about Windows, and I will stay talking about Windows (If I need any help, because I think I am done with my original question).
