I would never bet on a team that has C. Ronaldo.

After last night, I'll have to agree with you there. I just wish he'd stop delaying this whole Real Madrid thing, and just go there and ruin his career already!

i agree totally.

Ronaldo is a very interesting player. He has a great talent but he is a clown. He cant play in any big games but he can play against mediocre to bad teams. such as Man City, tottenham, West Ham and etc...

and he is definitely a player for the English Premier League.

If he goes to madrid, i would be suprised if he can score more than 10 goals throughout the season. I dont believe la liga is for ronaldo.

Actually, I think he only wants to go to La Liga just because it's a slower game than the Premiership, so he'll have an easier season. Ruud Van Nistelrooy is a good example. Still scoring like crazy, even though he's past his best. 62 goals in 51 appearances for Real Madrid. Whereas Ronaldo has 66 goals in 163 appearances for Man United (these are only domestic appearances and goals, BTW).

Ronaldo claimed that he'll hit 50 goals next season. He will if he goes to Spain, that's for sure.

okk guys.. WHAT TO SAY..

i just told all of you that germany would beat portugal and i put 50 bucks on that game.. well it paid of. i just earned near a thousand bucks on euro 2008 so far. ı had bet 150 bucks for turkey croatia game for a turkish glory.. but added another 150 just now...

I UNDERSTAND FOOTBALL... when pretty much the entire forum said portugal would beat germany... what did i say? GERMANY will win..

When i said to the forum that Ronaldo is a looser and cant play in any big matches what did you guys say? HE IS THE BEST EVER... and i insisted on saying that he was a clown. he will always be a clown. so bye byr portugal.

Tomorrow will be a tough game. I said before 99% turkey would win and 1% croatia.. but now i change it to 98% turkey and 2% croatia because we have 3 key defenders missing due to injury and some midfielders will play defence tomorrow for turkey. Thats horrible but great gameplay like always will bring victory to turkey.

from now on respect me.. because everything i said so far about EURO 2008 in this forum turned out to be true and it will not change.

I suspect i am Nostradamus' relative. i will check our family tree and see if he is my great great great great uncle.

Damn i am good.

Turkey will kick Croatian ass tomorrow.

You are an arrogant and ignorant little toe rag aren't you?

I bet on Germany to beat Portugal last night, and by your logic, I deserve a knighthood.

i agree totally.

While I am not a huge Ronaldo fan, you are forgetting key pieces of information. Before the past couple of seasons, his gameplay was not as a goal scorer but as a playmaker. He really only started trying to score a lot of goals during Uniteds striker shortage. La Liga is almost a custom made game for Ronaldo, because his pace will seem even greater there. He would not be able to hack it in the Serie A though.

hey, a poll for the euro winner is missing here,

i hope turkish made it tonight and beat croatia and germany after that even if they'll lose the final with holland.

i'm a netherland fan and i'm sure these euro has a clear color ORANJE!!!!!!!!!!!

my friend. you are a very wise person. Turkey vs Holland will be a great final. and one that will not be forgotten until euro 2100 :)

You are an arrogant and ignorant little toe rag aren't you?

Well if am a toe rag than you would be nothing but a dirty and broken toe nail. I am not a "SIR" and cant give you knighthood. go to queen elizabeth or sir alex ferguson for that. though Queen elizabeth would be the only one to help you in this matter.

so far everything i said about euro 2008 became true where as u thought that czech would beat Turkey. I am sure you must have thought that swiss would beat turkey too.

Arrogance comes with self confidence and success. I really don't care peopel calling me arrogant. Since i am also a stock broker and a currency trader in real life. I love being called arrogant in these matters.

Thank you for that.

Turkey for Euro 2008.

if ronaldo scores a total of 50 goals next season. I will give you my car. You have my word for it.

It is a 2006 Alfa Romeo 159 JTDM..

the only difference with my car and this one in the pic are the wheels. mine are 17 inc and this one is 18. but mine do look better. Also this has a 4.2 engine.. These are all the differences. I got the red brakes as well.

and this is the exact interior color and design.

Cool.

What will you give me if Turkey looses today?...

I want a new PC. :D

:)

i have a 10 year old Pentium 3 PC locked in my basement. it has 128 rams :) and on board graphics card. Also a 5 gb harddisk.

I am not using it for the last 7 years. I can sell it for 50 bucks here in Turkey.

want it ? :)

if ronaldo scores a total of 50 goals next season. I will give you my car. You have my word for it.

I'll hold you to that! :D It'll probably break down before it gets to me, though!

I'll hold you to that! :D It'll probably break down before it gets to me, though!

twice 2 cars crashed my car. one last year and one this year. needed to change the front bumpers each time. matter of fact i am picking it up again in 2 hours than go to my summer city an watch the game there.

it wouldnt break down but i speed a lot. usually 240 kms in the highway here... if a terrible accident does not happen and ronaldo scores 50 goals its yours.. :)

sorry though. i do not have the 4.2 version.

but i do have a chip in my engine. factory tuned it is 150 horsepower but now it is 190 horsepower :)

pray ronaldo scores 50 goals.

heck i dont believe he can score over 50 in 2 seaons in madrid if he goes there...

;)

Turkey for Euro 2008

bye bye ronaldo go home to portugal. or manchester. wherever is your home.

sorry though. i do not have the 4.2 version.

I don't really care what model it is. It's a car! :D I'm glad to see you meet the minimum requirement for being a petrolhead, which is you own an Alfa. (Y) That'll be a good first car if Ronaldo scores 50 goals!

so far everything i said about euro 2008 became true where as u thought that czech would beat Turkey.

So, Turkey let Czech republic go to 2-0 up for dramatic effect did they?

Face it, you were lucky, you never outclassed them as you seem to be portraying.

?10 on Croatia tonight for me.

By the way, Croatia are at 1.88 to win, and Turkey are at 5.0. I'm really surprised at that, I thought Turkey would have been at about 3.0...maybe Alfista's Turkey love is rubbing off on me.

Just give a lil' support, would you? :D

With three player missing, it will be an interesting match. If Turkey plays at their full potential during the whole match, it may end in three different results. But playing fast in last 15 minutes in this match will probably not serve.

I still do not understand what is so funny about that video. At least he is showing he has passion for the game and he does not like to lose.

I guess if he was laughing it would be better?

Go Croatia!!!

People for some reason or another like to mock him. I guess its because he is arrogant. He is still young and immature for sure but there is not reason to dislike him really, he is a superb player and will get only better.

I am Portuguese and even I think he is arrogant, or was more arrogant a few years ago. He seems to have calmed down a bit with his arrogance.

Nonetheless, regardless of who the player is, mocking a player for showing his emotion after a game is absurd.

Maybe I should show some Turkish players shedding some tears tonight after they lose ;)

Come on guys, we can't have Turkey losing tonight as this thread will be a lot poorer without Alfista.

We need Turkey to get to the final and then lose.

Me, I don't really care who wins. I'm more of a Rugby League fan.

    • An actual cosmic "Eye of Sauron" had been looking straight at us all along by Sayan Sen Image by Kovin P. Vasquez via Pexels | Not representative An international team of researchers has solved a long-standing mystery surrounding a distant blazar known as PKS 1424+240, helping explain why it produces some of the brightest high-energy gamma rays and cosmic neutrinos ever observed despite appearing to have a relatively slow-moving jet. The findings were published on June 6 in Astronomy & Astrophysics Letters. The study addresses a broader challenge in astrophysics: understanding how extreme cosmic objects accelerate particles to very high energies and produce very high-energy (VHE) photons and neutrinos. PKS 1424+240 is located billions of light-years from Earth. It has attracted attention for years because it is both a powerful source of VHE gamma rays and the brightest known neutrino-emitting blazar in the sky, according to observations by the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. It is also associated with one of the strongest peaks in IceCube's nine-year neutrino sky map A blazar is a type of active galactic nucleus powered by a supermassive black hole that pulls in surrounding matter and launches jets of plasma moving close to the speed of light. What makes blazars unique is their orientation. One of their jets points almost directly toward Earth, making them appear exceptionally bright across the electromagnetic spectrum and allowing scientists to study some of the most extreme physical processes in the Universe. The scientists exclaimed it's like the 'Eye of Sauron' in deep space. Usually, the brightest gamma-ray-emitting blazars are expected to have jets that appear to move very quickly. However, radio observations of PKS 1424+240 suggested that its jet was moving much more slowly, creating a contradiction that became part of a long-running problem known as the "Doppler factor crisis." To investigate, researchers analyzed 15 years of observations from the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA), a network of 10 radio antennas spread across the continental United States, Hawaii and St. Croix. Using a technique called Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), astronomers combine signals from widely separated radio telescopes to create a virtual Earth-sized telescope capable of revealing extremely fine details. The team combined 42 polarization-sensitive radio images collected between 2009 and 2025, creating a much deeper and more detailed view of the jet than had previously been possible. The observations were carried out as part of MOJAVE (Monitoring Of Jets in Active galactic nuclei with VLBA Experiments), a long-running program that studies the brightness, polarization and magnetic field structures of jets produced by active galaxies. The project aims to better understand how activity near supermassive black holes is linked to high-energy radiation and neutrino emission. “When we reconstructed the image, it looked absolutely stunning,” said Yuri Kovalev, lead author of the study and Principal Investigator of the European Research Council-funded MuSES project at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy. “We have never seen anything quite like it — a near-perfect toroidal magnetic field with a jet, pointing straight at us.” The image revealed an unusual geometry. The researchers found that Earth lies almost directly in line with the jet, with a viewing angle of less than 0.6 degrees. In simple terms, astronomers are looking almost straight down the jet. This turned out to be the key to the mystery. Because the jet is aimed almost directly at Earth, a relativistic effect called Doppler boosting dramatically increases its apparent brightness. The study found that this effect boosts the emission by a factor of about 30 while also making the jet appear slower than it actually is. “This alignment causes a boost in brightness by a factor of 30 or more,” said Jack Livingston, a co-author at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy. “At the same time, the jet appears to move slowly due to projection effects — a classic optical illusion.” The nearly head-on view also gave scientists a rare look at the jet's magnetic field. Using polarized radio signals, they detected a clear toroidal, or doughnut-shaped, magnetic field component. The observations suggest the jet carries an electric current and that its magnetic field helps launch, shape and stabilize the flow of plasma. Researchers believe this magnetic structure may also play a key role in accelerating particles to energies high enough to produce both gamma rays and neutrinos. “Solving this puzzle confirms that active galactic nuclei with supermassive black holes are not only powerful accelerators of electrons, but also of protons — the origin of the observed high-energy neutrinos,” Kovalev said. The research was conducted under the MuSES (Multi-messenger Studies of Energetic Sources) project, which investigates how active galactic nuclei accelerate particles and generate different cosmic signals, including light and neutrinos. Scientists say understanding how protons are accelerated and linked to neutrino production remains one of the major unanswered questions in astrophysics. The findings help explain why some blazars can appear to have slow jets while still producing extremely bright high-energy emissions. More broadly, the study strengthens the link between relativistic jets, magnetic fields, gamma rays and high-energy neutrinos. Researchers say the results provide new clues about how some of the Universe's most powerful natural particle accelerators work and offer important insights for multimessenger astronomy, which combines different types of cosmic signals to study extreme events in space.
