Selling Macbook Pro For Macbook (Black)

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Basically I have a Macbook Pro 15" C2D 2.33, 2GB RAM and x1600. I have played with the lower end Macs as my Mum and sister both have them, but I haven't used them extensively. I want something I bit smaller and more portable than the Macbook pro and I was just wondering what the downfalls of the Macbook Blacks (or white) are for those who use it everyday. If I don't end up getting a Macbook I'll end up trying to get a Dell XPS 1330 laptop.

And insight would be great! Thanks!

air.

thought about the air for about 2 seconds looked at the clip they have on the site, but 1 usb just doesnt cut it. 2 usb's really isnt enough in the first place but I can at least deal with that.

Things I need are.

VMWare.

Cisco Configuration.

Email, Web.

messenger.

Music

Nothing really graphic intensive.

The Air wouldn't work for you also because most Cisco tools require a serial port. ;)

Exactly and I use a keyspan via USB all the time for the serial port.

I'm thinking of maybe now keeping and using the macbook pro as a desktop type machine and getting the macbook as my laptop.

Good idea, a MacBook Pro is a perfect Workstation Replacement unit, throw a 30-inch display on it and have fun running it headless!

Do they have Wake on LAN while in sleep mode for the Macs? because that would be very handy!

air is the silliest thing i've seen. just get macbook. whats the point of it being thin when you have to lug around a dvd drive? i call that pointless.

What's the point of spending 2 grand for a piece of ****.

Who cares how thin it is?

Get a blackbook, they're pretty cool, and portable :)

    • Can confirm, I've built stuff for others and no complaints using their products.
    • Yes I agree, it's annoying. You can now miss tabs unless you point low enough.

    • Given only Volume license customers and specific resellers can obtain the LTSC versions legitimately it seems likely that this has been tinkered with quite a lot!
