Microsoft to buy Sega?

Recommended Posts

It wouldn't benefit Nintendo, as they wouldn't have anymore Wii games from Sega.

I dont believe Microsoft if they did puchase Sega would kill off a profitable business model (developing games for the Wii) but just adding talented developers as security for their platforms Xbox, Windows, Windows Mobile and Zune

If they make extra by porting to another system and its worthwhile they will do it

What the heck are you talking about? Ruined PC diversity? What does that even mean? They don't even make PCs. That other company does.

PC gaming lives and dies by technology MS creates and releases in their operating systems and DirectX.

They publicly admitted they let PC gaming go while they focused on the 360, although they intend to turn that around.

Much as people loved to bitch about Vista, a lot of the gaming related changes were intended to promote stability and ease of use so that all those really clueless people could, in fact, play games easier.

Sega has been fairly friendly to Microsoft so it wouldn't surprise me if it were true. But I'll still believe it when I see it.

^^Why would they make games on a competing product. Microsoft only makes games for the DS because they don't have a portable gaming system like the DS or PSP. So I don't think Microsoft would help Nintendo.

Why do they make Office for OS X

Because people buy it

I understand your point though

This is a stupid rumor. If Microsoft didn't raise a finger to buy Bioware, the studio that did Project Gotham, and there was one other place that got sold that did GOOD games for the 360 exclusively, why would they waste a dime on a studio that hasn't come out with a good game in like 7 years.

Because OSX is limited to Mac computers (not talking about OSX86) and Microsoft does not have anything to lose. They can make money on Apple while Apple can only gain market share from Apple made computers. Also Microsoft owns shares of Apple so they they are close, but not that close. They are like distant DISTANT relatives from many other mothers.

Anyways, SEGA should not let Microsoft buy them out.

    • Nah. For every indie dev that needs to create code for "stuff" or textures, it's a godsend enabler to possibly tackle a project that you may not otherwise. The end result and testing will tell the truth if everything works or doesn't, or a game is just mediocre slop, but now these tools are now there and it's the developer's duty to judge the outcome, and even more so for pro studios. And you gotta remember that they will be at an early stage.
    • whoosh my comment went over your head. Enjoy your notchless 3:2 OLED device
    • As a game dev, today was really depressing. They announced that Blueprints will be deprecated in UE6 to be fully replaced by their sh**ty Python-like Verse language... They also announced that 5.8 will be the last version of UE5 until UE6 comes out in MID 2029!!!! They have completely lost the plot.
