The Official Spore Thread

Recommended Posts

I've only had one crash. Was trying to add an antenna thing to the nose-cone of a jet plane... it sort of decided to attach it while saying "sell for" at the same time. Then it completely froze up.

Not unusual these days for everyone to have exactly the same problems with a game. The crashes for Spore seem to be fairly random and isolated issues though.

this person wants you to ban spore

I created this blog to find support for and follow my progress in letting Electronic Arts know that their biggest attack on Christian values to date will not be tolerated.

We can not allow the gaming industry to invade our homes and poison the minds of our children.

After all, their billions in revenue and all the advertising in the world are no match for the power of God.

GOD DAMMIT WE'VE ALL BEEN RICKROLLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But the Bible teaches us that God was not done with man. For we were His creation and He then spoke to Noah in Genesis 8:21-27 after the flood.

?21. The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: ?Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhoAnd never gonna give you up.

22. ?Never gonna let you down.?

23.?Never gonna run around and desert you.?

24. ?Never gonna make you cry.?

25. ?Never gonna say goodbye.?

26. ?Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.?lie and hurt you.?

27.?Never truly believe anything you read on the Internet. There will always be cases of Poe?s Law.?

It?s these teachings that I?ve spent my life learning, believing and becoming, that have made me the woman that I am today.

Have you got through to the creature stage successfully at all yet? Did you try anything odd with a creature, when it crashed the first time? Is it just one species? Have you tried getting through with another species?

The game crashes on me about every hour or hour and a half into playing. I save frequently. This got frustrating during the space tutorial because it doesn't allow you to save through the tutorial. Thus, no more Enterprise. I did build a Lambda-Class Star Wars ship, so Iam happy with that.

Ok, so Andrew what is your full name?? I didn't get it :(

fourjays I am going to add you, hope you don't mind ;) I'll do it later cause I'm at work now...

My game has been rather crashy too. I agree it sucks that it does autosave everyonce in while because one time it crashed during the video leading into the tribal stage...so I had to replay a bunch of the creature stage which blew...I did install some new drivers for my video card and so far it seems less crashy (as in it hasn't happened since...).

I'll try to post some pics of my little characters! :)

His full name is AndrewDBarker.

And yea, this thread if def for showing stuff and chating about Spore, why have another thread.

During the Space stage I find scouring a planets surface for a particular animal or artifact very tedious. The only help is the frequency at which the radar beeps and the narrow scope of the scanning tool. Am I missing something? Is there a better way to go about doing this?

Also, during the space stage how does one acquire a fleet of the same ship? When in war with another civilization they have about 6 space ships where as I only have one and a another from a trading partner civilization. I'd rather have two or three of my own ship.

Thanks in advance for anyone who answers my questions.

for people to talk about it regarding problems, hints/tips.

but this thread is not a dedicated thread regarding creations only, aka swimming through 26 pages so far with little images of what people have created is not here that i have seen

What do you think this thread is for?

Anyone else having a hard time trying to get a large enough territory in the space age?

I find i jsut dont have enough money at any given time to grow my empire, or to defend my colonies from attacks that can hold 8-12 ships ALL AT ONCE.. and sometimes more than one planet at a time, at a frequent 10-15minute interval, making it hard to get a decent amount of Cash, due to the fact that you have to babysit every planet

any tips for the space age?

you create a creature from primordial ooze , then evolve it to a space faring race, during its time, it may come across other creatures people have crated ( the online part )

I don't get it. Can someone explain to me the premise of this game? "Massively Singleplayer Online Game" doesn't make any sense. And I looked at their site but that doesn't help much either.

Yea I sorta slowed down with Spore once I hit the Space stage, haven't played much of it at all.

Of course I will finish that stage at least once. Thought everyone told me the space stage was the best part, I guess not.

Finish the space stage? I don't think that happens really

    • Snap Inc. launches new SPECS augmented reality glasses (for 'just' $2,195) by Aditya Tiwari Image: Snap Inc. Smartglasses powered by augmented reality are the latest fashion because the smartphone market is slowly reaching saturation. Snap Inc. announced its latest AR-powered smartglasses, called SPECS, that aim to strike a middle ground between underpowered AI glasses and heavy headsets you can't wear all the time. Available in two sizes, Snap SPECS are made from high-performance Swiss TR90 polymer and feature removable inserts to support prescription lenses. Its 47mm model weighs about 132g; the bigger 52mm model weighs 136g. Snap Inc has been spreading the word about the new glasses for a while now. Earlier this year, it even spun off its smart glasses team into a subsidiary called Specs Inc. Its proprietary LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) display delivers a 51-degree field of view and 16 million colors. Snap says the device gives the feel of a 24-inch desktop monitor when you're working, and of a 115-inch home cinema screen placed about 10 feet away when watching a movie. A pair of custom stereo speakers and 6x high-SNR MEMS microphones are built into the temples of the smartglasses to deliver open-ear audio while you cast a screen, stream content, open a whiteboard, or collaborate with others. Snap Inc. patted itself on the back, saying the smartglasses don't need tethering or a puck to connect to a computer. Under the hood, SPECS draw its power from two Snapdragon processors: one for computer vision and another for running Lenses. The device supports fast hand tracking, low latency, and responsive interactions that help digital content feel anchored in the real world, according to the company, which claims that SPECS can "deliver 7-millisecond motion-to-photon latency." The smartglasses offer up to four hours of battery life on a single charge while providing AI assistance, Bluetooth notifications, Lenses, audio/video playback, and more. The battery life could jump to 20 hours of mixed use when the charging case is included. Image: Snap Inc. You can view and interact with AR Lenses anchored directly to the physical world around you, and an on-board AI assistant uses the camera to see what's around to answer questions or provide real-time help with tasks. Snap Inc. noted that it filed more than 7,000 patents during the development of SPECS. It's trying to build the required digital ecosystem around the smartglasses, and said that developers have already published hundreds of Lenses for SPECS. Moreover, their electrochromic lenses use the same technology available in Boeing 787 Dreamliner windows, enabling them to shift from clear to tinted in just 10 seconds when you walk out of your house. Snap SPECS are now available for pre-order on the official website with a $2,195 price tag ($200 refundable deposit). The smartglasses are expected to ship in the US, UK, and France during the Fall this year.
    • Sound Booster 1.13 Build 575 by Razvan Serea Increase volume on your laptop. Boost the volume of even very quiet speakers. Raise volume above maximum. Letasoft Sound Booster can be used as an extra amplifier when the volume of the program you are listening to is too low for comfortable listening and you feel that your PC’s speakers can produce a louder sound. This can be the case when the audio or video has been recorded at the level below normal. Or, for example, when the other person’s microphone you are talking to on Skype, is not working properly. There can be a plenty of other reasons why the sound is being too quiet and there is not much you can do about it except buy external speakers. Sound of any application that is being played in the system can be amplified up to 500%. Letasoft Sound Booster can raise volume of programs like web browsers, on-line communication software (Teams, Discord, Zoom), any kind of media player or games. Simply put, volume of virtually any program that can play any sound in PC, can be boosted to a comfortable level with Letasoft Sound Booster. You can control current volume with the pop-up slider from the system tray. Alternatively, you can assign system-wide hot keys for increasing and decreasing, and use them when you need to adjust volume Letasoft Sound Booster constantly monitors current gain level and prevents samples from clipping, thus reducing all major sound distortions. • I own these and the normal QuietComfort ones from Bose. The QC are amazing and I want to love these, but for the life of me, I have a terrible time getting them attached to my ears.
