Finally Done with Middle School

Recommended Posts

Middle School sucked so much. It is finally done for. I graduated today, and my father is forcing me to go to the stupid graduation dance. But, after that, I have 2 1/2 months away from the idiots at my school who are all Obama supporters, without knowing anything about the man.

Actually, the real reason why I didn't want to go is because of a more personal reason. There is this one girl that I like, but she has a boyfriend, and I couldn't stand seeing them dancing with each other. I almost cried when I saw them both with each other. Basically, if any of you out there watch "The Office" - think back to Jim and Pam in Seasons 1 and 2. I am like Jim, she is like Pam (only not engaged), and her boyfriend is like Roy.

no offense, but you can't vote and neither can your friends. i wouldn't get worked up about it - you'll have 50-60 years to argue about things like this. enjoy those school events if possible, you never get another shot at them.

as for the girl - establish a rapport with her then tell her how you feel or expect nothing. if you think she's out of your league, set a timeline for yourself to improve your confidence (appearance, etc) and then tell her. if you don't make any changes, you probably won't have the confidence to ask her out next year. the bottom line is if you never say anything to her you'll never get her.

as a general rule - unless you are an above average looking guy (in which case you wouldn't be pining away for this girl b/c you'd be too busy with other ones), they will almost NEVER come to you no matter how old you are - it's all on you to make it happen.

Go anyway, seriously. I'm in a similar situation where I was going to the upcoming prom with this girl I like until she ditched me for some other guy. Am I still going? Of course I am, because at the end of the day all my friends will be there and it'll be great seeing everyone together for one last time before we go our seperate ways.

Bros before hoes, man!

trust me man, I'm going to college in August and sometimes I wish I could go back in time and fix the way ( sort of like the Butterfly Effect) I was, like not going to a dance, or being shy, or to open up to people. I realize it now I should not have been like that, so just go, a few more years and you'll look back and say...man I miss those moments.

soon they will be memories so try to have the best memories of those years.

Those were the best years of my life. Life is short, enjoy it.

Man who cares, it's a website on the Internet, there's younger people than that on here, they can just as easily mask their age. By the way roadgeek9, screw politics. I'm out of school and I don't give much of a flying about politics, it's all the same, the lesser of two evils.

In the end, at the end of the day what matters is, have a blast. Seriously, have fun. You don't have to wake up at 7am to go to work, you don't need to give a **** about gas prices. Heck, you probably don't even have to worry about buying condoms and shaving yet. You have two and a half months to do what you want, so man, don't waste your time on pointless stuff, go out there and give it all you got! Do something insane for the hell of it, don't start living your adult life now 'cause you still got 4 years to go in high school.

Two years into high school I decided I was tired of living like a kid, and I didn't feel like working behind a cash register at minimum wage for somebody else to profit, so I joined the army. I went to school 5 days a week, trained on Thursday nights and one weekend a month, I lived on base in the summer and now I'm looking forward to go to Afghanistan. Let me tell ya, when you're a teenager, it's when you can screw up and get a bunch of second chance, when you're an adult, you can't do that. I met some of the greatest friends I have through the military, on top of that I probably had the best time of my life.

About the girl you like, don't be a ######, if she doesn't like you, she doesn't like you. Next time, don't literally put on a show but make sure the girl you like notices you, standing in the corner looking at her isn't going to get you anywhere.

I'll tell you a little story... back in the day when I was fourteen, I got together with some friends and we went to the dollar store and bought about $40 worth of sparklers and caps, we made sparkler bombs and penny bombs with the caps and blew 'em all up against the school district's building. Would I get away with it if I did that now? Nah. Not a chance. Back then? Alright we got grounded for two or three weeks, but man, was it ever a blast! Literally! Get some memories while you still can :)

Agreed 1000%! You'll realize just how good and carefree the old days were - not having that much responsibilities on your back. ;) ?I'm still feeling the same way as you described - I'd definitely go out a lot more than just the last months of grade 12 if I could go back and repeat high school again.

To the OP: congrats. Now enter high school and enjoy it. As to those 'idiots' who don't line up with your political views, face it - you guys are still young and your views on everything - political included - will wildly change over the next few years.

also, a Large majority of HS students will feel time fly, these four years will go by so fast that you won't have time to think. Next thing you know you are preparing for a simple PSAT, next you're talking about a distant future in college (the majority), then you take the SAT and thinking/applying for a college and before you know it you'll be walking down to receive your diploma.

for me everything felt so surreal, about 3 weeks ago I was in St. Patricks Cathedral (HUGE), and I'm like "wow, this is it! is this real?". To tell you the truth, and its a bit embarrassing, but I was in a bit of a shock. I still feel like I'm a high school student. HS was the best years of my life, I'm sitting here writing this and smiling just remembering those times. I think I'm gonna cry! :p

Exactly, enjoy the finer points to being a kid while you're still a kid. There will be plenty to time to be concerned about politics and such later... trust me. ;) Have fun while you still can!

Have fun at High School freshmen. :p

You'll like high school better, I know I did. I just finished my freshmen year, going into sophomore. Probably the best school year in my life. (Y)

As for politics, I do care about politics at my age.... Not saying who i support though. :)

You are far too young to be thinking about politics.. Trust me when I was your age I thought about politics all the time because I didn't understand the mechanics (I am very analytical and obsess over things that escape my understanding). Regardless, it was wasted time. I am now 20 years old and realize there is no sense or any form of order to politics. Anything political consists of lies and public relations, there is no honesty or integrity. Nothing honorable in politics, and besides you should be more concerned with yourself.

No one is right, no one is wrong. The truth is the majority (and i mean 99.8%) of politics do nothing to benefit you or I and never will. They line their pockets and deceive.

That goes for Right or Left, Democrat or Republican, Obama or McCain. So if you must obsess, do so, but don't lose friends over it. You won't have a "real" opinion for years, because you can't vote.

    • Same Internet Archive seemed to grab the new version https://web.archive.org/web/20...d/Setup_MakeMKV_v1.18.4.exe Here's the link to an additional file it periodically downloads https://web.archive.org/web/20260213092148/https://www.makemkv.com/sdf.bin I think update's keys, etc. To manually trigger this update, put the sdf.bin file in the root of where the program is installed. When you launch the program it will pick up the file and import it. Typically put it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV\sdf.bin
    • Windows 11 KB5094126, KB5093998 bugging out Office apps but it may not be Microsoft's fault by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. Although the tech giant did not acknowledge any major problems, some users online reported various issues ranging from OneDrive and Dropbox access problems, BitLocker recovery lockouts, to blue screens and BSODs. You can read about them in this dedicated piece. While there is still no confirmation about those problems from Microsoft the company has admitted to another bug which we did not report on. The tech giant has confirmed it has received reports of an issue in which certain third-party applications may be unable to launch Microsoft Office apps or open Office documents after installing the Patch Tuesday. This affects both Windows 11 as well as Windows 10. The company says the problem impacts a subset of applications that rely on OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) automation to communicate with Microsoft Office programs. According to Microsoft, affected scenarios involve third-party software attempting to open Office applications or documents from within their own interface. In such cases, the Office program may fail to launch altogether, or the requested document may not open. Oddly there may not be any error message, which probably makes the issue difficult to diagnose. The bug affects several Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other apps in the Microsoft Office suite when they are launched through the affected software. These include tax and accounting software such as CCH Engagement and Workpaper Manager, dental practice management solutions like Dentrix and Softdent, as well as the popular research and reference management tool Zotero. Microsoft adds that other applications using similar Office integration methods could also experience the same problematic behavior. To understand the issue it is important to look at OLE, the Microsoft technology involved. OLE allows different applications to work together and share data, while its Automation feature lets one program control another. Thus this enables third-party software to launch Microsoft Office apps, open documents, and perform tasks automatically without requiring users to switch between programs. Because many accounting, healthcare, research, and business applications rely on OLE automation to interact with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office apps, any disruption can break those workflows. As a result, affected software may be unable to open Office documents or launch Office applications even though the programs themselves continue to work normally. At the moment the company has not provided a permanent fix though it has confirmed that engineers are actively working on a resolution, which will be delivered through a future Windows update. As such additional details will be shared once more information becomes available. In the meantime, Microsoft recommends a simple workaround for affected users whic is to open the Office application or document directly rather than launching it through the third-party program. For enterprise customers and organizations managing larger deployments, Microsoft says an additional mitigation is available. Admins experiencing the problem on their managed devices are advised to contact Microsoft Support for business to obtain and apply the workaround.
