It was the best NFS game I've played. One thing I really hope EA keeps is the control scheme from ProStreet. I absolutely love being able to hold the clutch L1 and then upshift/downshift with the right analog stick. That's one thing I really loved about ProStreet... how about you guys?

Hopefully they shy away from the drifting faze and work harder on the free roam 'world' definitely my favorite part of MW. I wish they would add small bits like being able to signal left/right, I actually have alot of fun trying to drive like a normal citizen in those types of games, except giving it some extra throttle on the highways like you would in real life is a joy to me. :p

I played it yesterday and it's a shame. It's like MW2 but I've lost faith in NFS ...

Now how did you get to play it  ?

The best NFS game: Need for Speed: High Stakes. After that is Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2.

I enjoyed NFS: Underground when it came out on the PS2. I hadn't tried any of the games since then because I'm not a fan of the whole underground/hip hop genre.

Any idea when the demo is coming out guys?

There won't be any demo at all. The dev team is concentrating in doing the game, not a demo ;(

Also, a car that will be reappearing is the Veyron, the game will include punkbuster, just like prostreet, new modes such as cat & mouse where you can be a cop, and of coursse the damage system, although it won't affect the driving, unlike prostreet.

And some random article about how a bodykit was designed: GT2 goes undercover

Edited by undu
For some reason, the post above me made want to install ProStreet again

edit: Nah, **** it. Stumbled on "GRID"'s DVD instead.

That will feed the need for speed.

yeah man, don't do it. GRID is what pro street should have been. Pro Street is terrible

They showed the trailer at the movie theaters. The whole time it was playing, I was thinking "This has to be the most fakest-looking racing move ever."

I felt so dumb when the NFS logo came up at the end.

^^ This one? http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/15/uncovere...rcover-trailer/

Obviously they have to use the in-game engine somewhere for some scenes, not just FMV the whole trailer. But at least the acting part of it doesn't look as cheesy as MW or Carbon.

edit: One thing I really like about this game is they've finally realized making cars look like Hot Wheels mixed with pimping out Asian cars is a thing of the past that shall die in hell after whoring it in the Underground series:

Now, it should be noted that in terms of sheer aesthetics, EA says it is taking a more "mature" approach to Undercover. During our demo, we heard the phrase "out with the neon" multiple times. A brief spin with the car customization tool squelched our fear that there would be less tweaking to be had in this game; appearance and performance mods were there in full effect. The one area that could be considered more "mature" was the paint shop, where there was an emphasis on less gaudy colors and a very hoity-toity showroom feel.

^^ Nah, it wasn't that one. It was the one where all the characters were talking with each other and stuff. I can't seem to find the trailer anywhere. It really looked like they were advertising it as a movie because there were no logos or anything at the beginning. Plus, it had the cinematic "boom" that you hear in movie trailers to rack up suspense? I don't know, I can't describe it. But it looked like a real movie trailer with whack CGI. :D

EDIT: Found it.

I was at a "videogames festival" in france were they showcased some stuff like Dead Space, Left for Dead, NFS undercover, Mirror's Edge, tomb Raider Underworld, Fallout 3, COD 5, Red Faction Guerilla, REsistance 2 ( all playable ) and lot of other stuff. They were also showing behind closed doors the next Prince of Persia, EndWar, Gears 2 and Fable 2 ( don't know if it was actual gameplay or a simple video ) .

The GFX are quite hot, the cops are back but the BIG letdown was the animation ( I played on X360 ) : there's a TON of little jerks when you drive around the city. There's also some nice damages modelization on teh cars.

I managed to snap a few pics with my DSLR but a dude was all over me saying : " no pics !!1!" so they're not of the best quality. but if you want me to post some stuff lemme know.

/off topic

I managed to catch a bugged devkit on picture too :)

That's actually not that bad! (For NFS standards, anyways :p)

I agree the CGI does look whack, but look at how they did the action scenes in Most Wanted, then compare it to this.

Oh and one more thing. Now that we've seen how SecuROM's Internet-based activation has damaged Spore's launch, what are the chances it'll make it into Undercover? NFS games have traditionally used plain old SecuROM CD-checks.

I just wished EA would incorporate a No CD/DVD option as I really have been spoiled by Steam and No DVD feature to play games.

everything pwns that game, i can't beleive that game was allowed to bare the NFS title...

Most Wanted was the last decent NFS game released, Carban wasn?t that great and Pro Street took crap to a new level.

I still don?t see the need to release a new game in the series every year though.

are you talking bout Most wanted or Pro Street:p

    • Media Player Classic - Home Cinema 2.7.3 by Razvan Serea Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (MPC-HC) is a free and open-source video and audio player for Windows. MPC-HC is based on the original Guliverkli project (which is no longer maintained) and contains many additional features and bug fixes. As the continuation of the original Media Player Classic, MPC-HC isn’t flashy but it works with nearly any media format. MPC-HC uses DXVA technology to pass decoding operations to your modern video card, enhancing your viewing experience. And MPC-HC supports both physical and software DVDs with menus, chapter navigation, and subtitles. Overview of features A lot of people seem to be unaware of some of the awesome features that have been added to MPC-HC in the past years. Here is a list of useful options and features that everyone should know about: Dark interface Menu > View > Dark Theme When using dark theme it is also possible to change the height of the seekbar and size of the toolbar buttons. Options > Advanced Video preview on the seekbar Options > Tweaks > Show preview on seek bar Adjust playback speed Menu > Play > Playback rate The buttons in the player that control playback rate take a 2x step by default. This can be customized to smaller values (like 10%): Options > Playback > Speed step Adjusting playback speed works best with the internal audio renderer. This also has automatic pitch correction. Options > Playback > Output > Audio Renderer MPC-HC can remember playback position, so you can resume from that point later Options > Player > History You can quickly seek through a video with Ctrl + Mouse Scrollwheel. You can jump to next/previous file in a folder by pressing PageUp/PageDown. You can perform automatic actions at end of file. For example to go to next file or close player. Options > Playback > After Playback (permanent setting) Menu > Play > After Playback (for current file only) A-B repeat - You can loop a segment of a video. Press [ and ] to set start and stop markers. You can rotate/flip/mirror/stretch/zoom the video Menu > View > Pan&Scan This is also easily done with hotkeys (see below). There are lots of keyboard hotkeys and mouse actions to control the player. They can be customized as well. Options > Player > Keys Tip: there is a search box above the table. You can stream videos directly from Youtube and many other video websites You can stream videos directly from Youtube and many other video websites Put yt-dlp.exe or youtube-dl.exe in the MPC-HC installation folder. Then you can open website URLs in the player: Menu > File > Open File/URL You can even download those videos: Menu > File > Save a copy Tip: to be able to download in best quality with yt-dlp/youtube-dl, it is recommended to also put ffmpeg.exe in the MPC-HC folder. Several YDL configuration options are found here: Options > Advanced This includes an option to specify the location of the .exe in case you don't want to put it in MPC-HC folder. Play HDR video This requires using madVR or MPC Video Renderer. After installation these renderers can be selected here: Options > Playback > Output Ability to search for and download subtitles, either automatically or manually (press D): Options > Subtitles > Misc Besides all these (new) features, there have also been many bugfixes and internal improvements in the player in the past years that give better performance and stability. It also has updated internal codecs. Support was added for CUE sheets, WebVTT subtitles, etc. Media Player Classic - Home Cinema 2.7.3 changelog: Updated LAV Filters to version 0.82 Updated MPC Video Renderer to version 0.10.4.2550 Updated MPC Audio Renderer A few crash fixes, bug fixes and small improvements. • Microsoft will finally let you sign in to Edge with a Google account by Usama Jawad As things currently stand, Microsoft Edge only allows you to sign in to the browser with a Microsoft Account (MSA). This allows you to sync your browser settings and other data across other devices, as long as you sign in with the same account. However, Microsoft is now modifying this mechanism in a way that will likely please many users. In an update to its Microsoft 365 Roadmap, Microsoft has indicated that it will soon let users sign into Edge using a Google account from the profile menu and the Edge sign-in screen. This will be in addition to the MSA login option, and it opens up new doors for people who prefer using Edge, but cannot be bothered to configure a Microsoft account. This brings several advantages such as the ability to sync your data across devices using just a Google account. It may even facilitate flexible single sign-on (SSO) experiences where you can quickly login to websites and services through a single Google account that is presented as the preferred sign-in option. Up until now, Microsoft allowed customers to indirectly use a Google account, by configuring a Google account as a Microsoft account, or by setting up a one-way sync option between Edge and Chrome. This is a rather interesting development, especially considering that Google Chrome still limits you to a Google account sign-in, but it will be interesting to see if the company reciprocates Microsoft's gesture in the future. This is not the only recent instance in which Microsoft has extended a handshake to Google via Edge. In April 2026, it began tracking the development of a work search banner for Google Search queries, just like the one present in Edge. However, if we go back almost seven years, to January 2020, Microsoft had emphasized that it had no plans to "integrate Google services into Microsoft Edge by default", in response to people requesting Google sign-in services on Edge. Fast-forward to today, and Microsoft is planning to release this feature in July 2026, with IT admins having the option to control its availability on Windows and macOS through the NonMicrosoftAccountSignInEnabled policy.
    • If they ever come out and say the AI is no longer accessible to the gen pop people aren't going to know how to tie their own shoelaces.
    • It's hard not to when they are shoehorning Ai into EVERYTHING. Some are active users by choice, I bet a lot of them are because it's shoved in their face the entire time.
