I'm running this on my MBP (see specs below). Does anyone have similar specs so I can tweak the most performance out of the game? It's not horrible, I kind of enjoy the arcade feel and music to this, I quite like it in fact. The only thing bothering me really are the glitchy shadows.

The game is good i don't know what you man are chatting about

I'm playing it on 360 and those games i have to force myself to turn off

"Ok one more race.. Nah maybe another.. Ok last one DEFINATLEY"

I'm not too far into it but i'm enjoying it.

I've found all the latest N4S games too be better on consoles rarther than pc.

Some people play them on old pc's which obviously can't make them look as nice as they should,

I don't know why they bother.. I know graphics shouldn't make a game but it's like trying to watch a action movie from a CAM vs a Blueray disk, you know?

The graphics are good, everything is a bit too shiny though.

i willhave to check this new one out aswell... i have owned NFS:MW and Carbon bought pro street played it for 10 mins and didn't even like it... waste of money/time so i took it back and exchanged it for something else at GS

Have you really looked closely at the videos? For one thing, the graphics of this game is the best I've seen in a racing game. Not to mention the new driving techniques and the amount of cars they have, plus the first appearance of a Ferrari for the first time since NFS: HP2, the huge map that they've built which is certainly an improvement to the track base NFS: Pro Street. Sure, they might reuse some things from the old games, but I'm willing to forgive them as it's not easy to create entirely new content for each game, look at NFS: High Stakes, where they reuse all the tracks from NFS:III but no one complained then  . Yeah, really similar to MW  .

PC Version

Now i want some of what you have been drinking or smoking cos you must be seeing things.

Is like chalk and cheese. on the PC Version

Race Drive Grid knocks this out the park in gameplay, graphics and in physics.

NFS has been going downhill and i have played all of em except last 3 (which includes this)

Major disappointment. And i am using full graphics settings, everything on full. (under Win XP SP3)

I am a big fan of NFS. However this game has serious issues. Yet people will take up for it, this isn't something we should stand for. How can we let them release a game that has serious graphic issues? IA issues? game play errors? We should be all writing the emails and expressing our concern. I think this game would be great and would have scored much higher if only they delayed the game and fix these issues.

....7 hours in 50% through career.

God damn I like it.

I'll tell you what this game is. This game is the Transformer. The movie, as a movie is crap. Writing is crap, acting is cheesy, no real story line what so ever, all the bad things you can say about a bad film. But when you walk out of that theater, you just don't care do you? You go, god damn son I got my 10 dollars worth and walk away happy.

This is what this game is. A crap game but is entertainment to absolute no ends. Having my Audi TT zoom around the way it does, most satisfying feeling ever...

I'm trading in Midnight Club LA for this. I've read the reviews and I think that this game will deliver on what I want it to deliver. I was one of the few people who enjoyed Pro Street alot. The car sounds and tuning is pretty much all I care about, and Pro Street was quite good in that department.

As far as people complaining its too easy, its better than too hard. Midnight Club is quite hard, you can be racing, and say you make one mistake, in most cases you fall too far behind to win, and you end up having to race again.

I'm hoping to pick it up tonight or tomorrow, and will deliver my thoughts on it after :D

PS: How do you guys like the car sounds? I've heard they sound awesome.

Could you post your settings? I really can't believe that putting everything on its highest settings and running the game at 1280x1024 can result in such poor performance, given the visual quality of the game's environment. (Quick specs: Q6600 overclocked to 3 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, slightly overclocked 8800 GT)

GRID's visual quality is almost night and day compared to this, yet it runs at a fluid 50+ FPS.

@Jasur: Your system's pretty similar (except CPU and amount of RAM). How does it run for you?

Ran fine for me

Just seemed weird the behaviour of the car and the physics.

Even on full settings, looked terrible. I dunno why others say looks good cos compared to GRID, it looks crap.

The cars in NFS remind me of the NFS Underground cars and trucks. Knowing my luck, there will be a white truck that appears whenever.

Well let me start off by saying this game is much better than Pro-Street.

It's definitely not the best NFS, but it's still enjoyable.

If you are looking for a decent racer with arcade style handling and decent customization with the cars, I would say this is a good choice.

I'm not upset that I bought it...

Wow, I'm blown away as I didn't think EA could successfully replicate the feel of Most Wanted after the two f*ckups that were Carbon and Pro Street...but indeed they have and Undercover imo is awesome. Some people have criticized the graphics for not being on par with today's standards but that claim is unfounded imo and I just love the magic hour 'effect'. I also downloaded a 100% finished gamesave to check out some of the better cars etc. before starting in career mode from scratch and the handling on the speedier vehicles is mighty unrealistic but I can live with it I guess.

All in all a big thumbs up from me :p

GRID's visual quality is almost night and day compared to this, yet it runs at a fluid 50+ FPS.

Totally agree. GRID's graphics are much better. I don't know about anyone else but there seems to be graphics tearing? I've got all the settings up full and AA AF on and it still doesn't look great. The handling on the cars is waaaay off too. Or at least it was on the crap heap of a car they give you to begin with. It's no where near as good as Most Wanted

I've only just started playing it after having the game sit on the table for the past 5 days due to me having to work :p . So far, I think I made the right choice in buying this game. I gave Pro Street a miss because I knew it was going to be bad and I was right. The first time I looked at Undercover, I knew that it wasn't going to be as good as Most Wanted but for the most part EA did held up its promise that it would be similar to it.

Some of the positives are the car selections, which will certainly satisfy anyone, from the slow Nissan 240SX to the behemoth that is the Bugatti Veryon. I certainly enjoyed the highway battle as I feel that is one of the better race modes in the game. The graphics are alright, though they are not the best as GRID is better in this area, I will admit that. The world is very large and I did find time to just roam around just for the fun of it.

The downside is that there are too few pursuit breakers and getting to them is a little hard. The Heroic Driving Engine is pointless though the U-Turn is extremely useful for evading police. I also can't seem to find an option to change my name, other than displaying "Player" which I find annoying. The police, who though seems to pick up a couple of tricks such as the PITT manoeuvre, are a bit docile compared to their MW counterparts. Car handling is a bit of a miss, but thankfully you can adjust it to your liking and so far I've had no trouble with it. Also, when I connected my Xbox 360 controller to my notebook, it seems to have the keys mapped differently compared to the manual. You can easily map it again but it is annoying.

Overall, better than NFS:Pro Street by a mile but still quite far from Most Wanted. That said, I'm not complaining that much :D .

PC Version

My mistake, I forgot about GRID and I do find the graphics in that game to be very nice. However, I just couldn't get into that game as there wasn't much for me to do, not to mention I had problems with how the car handles.

Then again, maybe I'm just a lousy player :p .

    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2, urges IT admins to prepare for release by Usama Jawad Windows 11 typically follows an annual update cycle, but Microsoft recently broke that tradition a bit by releasing a "26H1" version in the first half of this year as a "scoped" build for select new silicon PCs only. This version was not available for customers using 24H2 and 25H2 builds, as Microsoft is busy preparing version 26H2 for them, confirmed officially for the first time. In a Windows IT Pro blog, Microsoft has urged IT admins to prepare for the upcoming release of Windows 11 version 26H2. The company has confirmed that this will be a small enablement package (eKB) that will simply light up certain disabled features that are already present in the operating system's code base. This means that the "refined" Windows update and deployment experience will be simpler and quicker, with minimal disruptions, as the feature update will simply toggle a few flags rather than performing a complete replacement. Microsoft has explained that this is all possible because the standard Windows 11 releases share the same servicing branch and hence, the same source code. However, this also means that Windows 11 26H1 users won't be able to upgrade to 26H2 as that is a different branch, but this is something we have known for a while now. Similar to previous annual feature updates, Windows 11 26H2 will offer the following support cycles: 24 months of support for Home, Pro, Pro EDU, and Pro for Workstations editions 36 months of support for Enterprise, Education, IoT Enterprise, and Enterprise Multi-session editions Microsoft has not confirmed a concrete release date for Windows 11 26H2, but noted that it is "coming soon". If we go by the ongoing release cadence, we can expect it to begin rolling out in early October 2026. As such, IT admins have been encouraged to begin validating Windows Insider releases in the Experimental Channel, plan rollout rings, and strategize the utilization of their existing deployment tools.
    • Windows 11 gets new audio improvements in the latest builds by Taras Buria Today's Experimental builds (26H1 and Future Platforms, formerly Canary) pack several audio-related improvements. If your device is enrolled in the Experimental Channel (26H1), you can download build 28120.2315, while those in the Future Platforms version have build 29613.1000 to try. Here is what is new in build 29613.1000: [Audio] Following up on our previous improvements, we’re making some more adjustments to Settings > System > Sounds based on your feedback. Namely, we’ve updated the “All sound devices” page so: You now have the ability to change default devices from this page. Each of the devices displayed on this page now has a little volume meter next to it to show if there is audio actively playing. We’ve adjusted the page design slightly so now you can filter whether you’re viewing input or output devices. We’ve added toggles so you can choose if you want to hide or show disabled, disconnected, and unplugged devices on this page. We’ve also updated the input and output audio properties page for devices in Settings to now include jack information for those that need it. And here is the changelog for build 28120.2315: This update includes a small number of minor bug fixes and improvements. [Accessibility] This update improves caption style responsiveness by redrawing captions immediately for caption style changes. If no current caption is visible, a sample caption string is displayed. [Audio] This update improves the reliability of the inbox HD Audio driver. You can find the official release notes for build 28120.2315 here and for build 29613.1000 here.
    • I agree with what I think you are saying, just not in the way you are saying it. Like any tool, the amount it represents your work is perorational to the effort you put into it. It is similar to why 2nd grade math students learning to add and subtract are not allowed to use calculators, but a high-school calculous student is. For the 2nd grader, that tool would completely replace the work they are doing, for the calculous student the same tool allows them to work far more effectively while in no way replacing their effort or knowable. If you spend 30 seconds writing a prompt, then the image that comes out is no more "yours" than if you found the same image with a Google Image search. However, many of these generative tools also support highly iterative processes that allow back and forth, and merging generated images with photos or human created images. I am sure you would agree that a human spending hours of time working on a project, even if AI was involved in the process, still reflects that human's work.
    • Windows 11 version 26H2 is now available for testing in the latest preview build by Taras Buria Friday Windows 11 preview builds are here. Insiders in the Experimental (formerly Dev) and Beta Channel can download builds 26300.8697 and 26220.8690. There are no new features, but Microsoft is officially moving the Experimental Channel to version 26H2. In addition, Microsoft is improving the copy dialog in File Explorer, the Start menu reliability, and fixing virtualization issues. Here is the changelog: [General] With today’s build, Windows Insiders in the Experimental channel will see the versioning updated under Settings > System > About (and winver) to version 26H2. For more information, see the Windows Insiders blog. [File Explorer] We’ve improved the visual consistency and reliability of the Copy dialog in Dark mode, including its launch experience and the expanded progress view. [Start menu] - Also available in Beta Improved reliability of Start menu reflecting newly installed or removed apps without requiring sign-out or restart. [Taskbar] Fixed an issue for Insiders using the new smaller taskbar option, where the system tray might get cut off or pushed off screen. [Settings] - Also available in Beta Improved reliability of Settings > Apps > Startup. [Virtualization] - Also available in Beta This update addresses an issue that could result in bugchecks citing HYPERVISOR_ERROR (0x20001) and KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x1E) errors after installing the latest flights on some devices during system restarts, virtual machine operations, or while running some gaming applications. You can find the official changelog for the Experimental build here and for the Beta build here.
    • I've always preferred this possibility. There is something that feels good about the idea that all matter in the universe will eventually come back together and maybe even result in another big bang. The idea that the universe would fizzle out over the eons and forever drift apart is a little depressing. I realize it is not logical to let a basic human desire for life to have a grand everlasting meaning change the way I feel about a scientific theory, but I am human, so that is how I feel :-).
