randomnut
Hey, What i'm looking to do is add a second domain into exchange 2003. While that's easy enough, I have a few questions about it's set up. What I need to do is add company.it addresses to out company.com domain/exchange. The set up is everyone comes under the umbrella company.com AD tree. Everyone has a .com address. Now one office wants .it addresses, we own the domain name but don't have an .it AD site set up or anything. What I am thinking, is to: - set up MX records for company.it to point to our exchange server, - add company.it into exchange under the domains the server is responsible for, - add company.it addresses as additional ones in their user accounts on our .com ADUC system. Would it be that simple? Or would I need to go further and create a company.it site in ADUC, and add to sites+services, etc? Any ideas on the best route to go down to achieve this would be most appreciated. Guest
You should be able to just add the domain. Exchange should automatically update recipients with the new domain. Why are you looking in Sites and Services? You just need to... http://www.petri.co.il/configure_exchange_...her_domains.htm Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/644101-adding-a-second-domain-to-exchange/#findComment-589493612 Share on other sites
randomnut
Thanks. We want to run both .com and .it from the exchange server. After adding in the domain as an additional in exchange, Considering these users already have .com, do we just change this in ADUC to a .it addresses? We only want a few of the .com addresses changed to .it, not everyone. thanks Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/644101-adding-a-second-domain-to-exchange/#findComment-589495032 Share on other sites
Guest
Typically if you edit the "Default Recipient Policy" it will give the *.it domain to all users. You will need to create a new policy I guess if your wanting to give the new alias to only certain users. By default exchange will add the new alias to all existing users.
