Dead Wireless Xbox live headset

So, my Wireless headset won't charge anymore. I tried through the xbox USB, PC USB, and a USB IPOD CHARGER. the headset just won't recharge and its now dead. I was thinking about calling microsoft and tell them that they sold me a defective device (it only lasted me like 6 months). thats probably my first choice to do.

My other idea is to buy another one from best buy, switch them out, and then return it and get some instore credit. - I know its illegal, but what can you do when microsoft and best buy sell a defective product that breaks on you :(

Call Microsoft and get them to replace it.

Mine died after about 6 months too, there is a problem with some headsets and they refuse to take charge after only a few months. I emailed MS asking about it when mine broke and they basically told me to phone support and get a replacement.

I actually went out and bought a wired headset when my wireless one broke. If i play I tend to play for a long time and I find the wired ones to be so much more comfortable.

I have had 6 of them break exactly the same way microsoft have replaced them everytime.

Just thought I would give an update to my situation.

SO I called them and told them my problem with the wireless headset. Well, they told me that they had a 90 day warranty on them. So I kind of got a little bit peeved at them due to the fact that I had a defective headset. SO the lady kept telling me that and then she would put me on hold for a second. So she comes back after a while and said that they would approve the repair process but I would have to pay for shipping there. Their logic to accepting it. Was that I had already had a console that was replaced with a red ring of death and that my console now was out of warranty. Oh Goodie. So Now all I have to send it off to the repair center and get a brand new headset (hopefully not a refurb)

so note to self, If you got a headset that won't function properly, you'll have to purchase a new one. To them, they said I was a "special case".

Go Figure.

Why don't you go to the store where you bought it? Here where I live, there is an organisation that protect consumers and if I remember correctly, almost all products must have a "normal" life. Six month is not enough IMO. I would keep my point and having a free other headset

Bought it from best buy and didn't get their "we're going to shove in your face" warranty. That and I don't have the reciept for it. Go me :(

Sent it out today and its going to cost me 12 CAD bucks to send it express to Ontario. Woot :(
