EIther that or I'd suggest just using Safari, it it truly the best browser on OS X. (My opinion) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/644680-new-mac-user-installing-problems/#findComment-589500090 Share on other sites

And with all it has the same problem that it makes a disk image on the desktop I already tried as u said of first dragging the dmg to the applications then ejecting it But still when i run firefox or other application.. a disk image shows up on the desktop Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/644680-new-mac-user-installing-problems/#findComment-589500093 Share on other sites
giga Veteran Posted June 21, 2008 Veteran Share Posted June 21, 2008 Why are you dragging the dmg to /Applications? 1. Remove all your junk in your dock. 2. Open the dmg. 3. Drag the application from the opened dmg to /Applications. 4. Eject the dmg. Then feel free to move the app from /Applications to the Dock. You want to drag the Application contained inside the DMG to the Applications Folder. NoneAvail
Yeah thats ok, after you copy FF to your APPs folder, from that disk image on your desktop, you can eject that disk (drag it into the recycle bin) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/644680-new-mac-user-installing-problems/#findComment-589500099 Share on other sites

johnathonm
And if that doesn't work go into the hard drive, go into system tools or accessories and launch a terminal. Type in the following : sudo rm -rf Hit enter. This will purge all your temp files and also purge the firefox install (including unmounting). Don't to this - it's bad. But it will remove your temp files and firefox :).
