Rapidshare problem, anyone else getting this?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Is anyone else having this problem?

I have a premium account with RS and have never had a problem downloading from various locations before (I have a laptop that I use at work, school and home). The day before yesterday I ran CCleaner and defragged my laptop's harddrive with PerfectDisk. Now I am only able to use Rapidshare at work but nowhere else. I can login to my premium account from other locations but I can't download anything! The error I get when I try to download from other locations is:

The premium account XXXXXX is already in use with another ip. It looks like this account is used on different computers at the same time.

Please try again later.

IP: XX.XX.XXX.XXX - YY.YYY.YYY.Y/YY.

I tried clearing my entire internet history via Internet Properties, but it didn't help. My laptop is EXTREMELY protected, so I'm 99.9% sure I haven't been hacked. I've emailed RS support FOUR FRIGGIN' TIMES and haven't received a single response. WTF?

Anyone know what's going on here, or have a solution?

Thanks!

yeah i have the same problem and this is what rapidshare support had to say

it is not a problem to use an account at several computers or with differentIP addresses but you can not download from different IP addresses at the sametime if they are not in the same subnet.

Example:

123.234.77.234 123.234.77.232

-> same IP-Subnet, simultaneously downloads possible.

123.45.67.89 123.45.60.11

-> not the same IP-Subnet, no simultaneously downloads possible.

It is also forbidden to share the account with other persons or to post logindata in forums. With the link "View Logs" in the premium zone you can see how much you havedownloaded on each day and from what IP-address. If there are IP-addresses listed that you do not know, please change yourpassword in the premium zone using the link "settings" and make sure that yourcomputer and email-address are secure so nobody could access yourRapidShare-account.

which means you can only sign up from one place at a time. and make sure you delete the old cookie if you want to sign up from somewhere else.

They did this probably to stop accounts being shared but still it screws up the people who usually log in from different places or has dynamic ip.

I've got the same friggin problem as you guys. I can only download 1 file at a time instead of before when i was able to download 8 files at a time using flashget. I have to clear cookies on my Browser and wait for 15min before i can download my next file. Its getting on my nerves. What to you mean by IP-subnet and all those stuff above i dont get it... rapidshare better fix this ****. How are you guys coping with the problem. i cant live like this forever.

it has something to do with our routers right? or internet connection

I think your first suspicion is correct, it's to stop people from sharing their accounts. I guess RS has the right to do this, but the the method they're using is strictly amatuer hour.

How friggin' hard is it to have your server see the difference between an account being used simultaneously from multiple locations vs. just being used in different locations at different times???

I suggest we all keep emailing our complaints to them so they will fix this crap. I doubt they'll bother otherwise.

Thanks leechers for sending RS into lockdown mode. Well done, ######.

Yes i have a same problem; my IP is dynamic IP; i check in FAQS they said clearly that premium account wont be check for IP but only cookies; and i am using premium account; but still having the same problem. I sent them many letter but recieved none; . They better fix it fast; or people will quit using them. They still waiting now cause some old files till host by rapidshare.

Pot callin kettle black aint it. Its not like there's some kind of share ratio that keeps everyone happy.

Excuse me? I PAY for the rapishare service and I DON'T give out my account info to other people. There is no "sharing" of data amongst RS users, like you have in bittorrent; everything is hosted on the RS servers.

In other words, you're comparing apples and oranges.

hello everyone,

i got exactly the same problem with rapidshare, i have a premium account and previously i was downloading multiple files with download manager till thursday . now the same error comes , and with great difficulty only one file can be downloaded. i have tried removing all cookies from wherever i have used rapidshare but still it says the same. even changing the password has no effect . and getting a reply from rapidshare is next to impossible. i am wondering wether it is a problem of transparent proxies from Etisalat that is the culprit. Is it possible that they may have made some changes at their end.

Any suggestions?

milind

i create a new Premium account with rapidshare !

i am using one computer only

i did never give my account for any body !

i changed my password 4 times !!

and i trust that i have good security system !

the First link it is working good , but when i use next links give me the same ERROR !

They answer me same thing !!!

what is wrong ?

Please tell me ??

Everyone here has the same problem with premium account since the last few week - 1 week in my case - they all sent messages complain to rapidshare; they replied that they tried to fix it - in my case none are replied - . All we can do is switch to another service while waiting and curse them ^_^

Omg I thought it was somethin i was doin wrong!!! I got the same response from them that everyone else is getting and i was thinking huh that makes no damn sense when i have a dynamic ip......and i too am still gettin the error message and my download manager will not download any files unless i get lucky...this is annoying me

    • As I've been usually saying lately - we all can thank "AI" for this.
    • Friday Windows 11 preview builds are here. Insiders in the Experimental (formerly Dev) and Beta Channel can download builds 26300.8697 and 26220.8690. My Windows11 device on the Preview Channel just got 26220.8728. My guess is this build is a nightly update from 26220.8690.
    • Traffic has a surprisingly unexpected impact on your surroundings by Sayan Sen Image by Radik 2707 via Pexels A collaborative study by researchers from several Israeli institutions found that everyday pollution from traffic and industrial activity measurably changed the atmospheric electric field over the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, providing new evidence of how human activity can influence the lower atmosphere. The research was led by Dr. Roy Yaniv of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Gertner Institute at Sheba Medical Center, Dr. Assaf Hochman of the Fredy & Nadine Herrmann Institute of Earth Sciences at the Hebrew University, and Prof. Yoav Yair of Reichman University. The study also involved Itay Froomer, a student from Hadera High School and the Israeli Museum of Medicine and Science (Technoda), who carried out the work as part of the Ministry of Education's 5-unit physics research track. The researchers focused on the atmospheric electric field under fair-weather conditions. Even in the absence of storms, a weak electric field naturally exists between Earth's surface and the atmosphere. One of the main ways scientists measure this field is through the Potential Gradient (PG), which is the inverse of the vertical component of the electric field. PG is a key part of the global electric circuit, a planet-wide system of electrical currents maintained by thunderstorms and electrified clouds around the world. Scientists have long known that the atmospheric electric field can be influenced by factors ranging from large-scale atmospheric processes to local weather conditions such as dust, fog and clouds. Human-made pollution is also known to play a role, but understanding exactly how urban emissions affect the electric field close to the ground has remained an area of ongoing research. To investigate this relationship, the team analyzed measurements from a newly installed electric field mill, an instrument used to continuously monitor the strength of the atmospheric electric field. The instrument was installed at the Center for Technological Education (Roter House) in Holon and became operational in August 2024. It was funded by Israel's Ministry of Education and the Holon municipality. The electric field mill forms part of a broader monitoring network that includes nearby meteorological stations and air-quality monitoring sites. This allowed researchers to compare electric field measurements with detailed weather data and pollution records to better understand what was driving changes in the Potential Gradient. The study focused on two major urban pollutants: fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and nitrogen oxides (NOx), both commonly produced by vehicle traffic and industrial activity. PM2.5 refers to microscopic airborne particles small enough to remain suspended in the atmosphere for extended periods, while NOx is a group of gases released during fuel combustion. Researchers examined daily, weekly and seasonal patterns in the atmospheric electric field and compared them with changes in pollutant concentrations. Their analysis revealed a clear relationship between NOx levels and changes in the Potential Gradient, particularly during morning and evening rush hours when traffic emissions were at their highest. “What we observe is a direct physical link between emission peaks and electrical variability,” explained Dr. Roy Yaniv. “NOx reduces atmospheric conductivity very quickly, so the electric field responds almost instantaneously during traffic rush hours.” Atmospheric conductivity describes how easily electrical charges move through the air. According to the researchers, nitrogen oxides rapidly alter this conductivity, causing a near-immediate response in the electric field. PM2.5, however, was associated with a delayed response. The researchers attributed this difference to the particles' longer atmospheric residence time, meaning they remain in the atmosphere for longer periods, as well as their different microphysical interactions with surrounding air and atmospheric components. The study also identified a pronounced "weekend effect." In Israel, traffic volumes and some industrial activity decline significantly on Fridays and Saturdays. During these periods, concentrations of both NOx and PM2.5 dropped, and corresponding changes were observed in the atmospheric electric field. “The weekend signal demonstrates just how sensitive the electric field is to changes in human activity,” the researchers noted. “When emissions decline, the electrical environment adjusts at once, providing a high-resolution indicator of urban atmospheric conditions.” The findings showed that pollution levels can influence not only the chemical composition of the atmosphere but also its electrical properties. Researchers said the results strengthened the case for using atmospheric electricity as an additional tool for environmental monitoring, particularly in densely populated urban areas where anthropogenic, or human-caused, influences are most pronounced. The study also pointed to potential public health applications. By combining air-quality measurements with observations of atmospheric electricity, researchers said they could gain a more complete picture of how urban atmospheric conditions change over time. “Integrating air-quality data with electric-field measurements gives us a clearer picture of how the lower atmosphere evolves moment by moment,” the researchers added. “It’s a framework that can support both scientific insight and practical environmental decision-making.” Beyond the scientific findings, the project highlighted a collaboration between universities, public institutions and secondary education. Researchers said the work demonstrated how students could take part in real-world environmental research while contributing to studies of air quality, atmospheric processes and their potential effects on society. • We aren't even at the all-star game and Microsoft is talking about an update that will most likely be released during the World Series if not after. A lot can happen in the world between now and the 2026 World Series, including the 2026 FIFA Cup. Tell me about it again after the FIFA Cup is concluded. That should allow plenty of time to prepare for it.
