[VB .NET] Develop WM app

I need to write an app for Windows Mobile (v. 5.0), and I want to use VB .NET. The Express version of 2008 does not appear to allow one to develop mobile apps. What version do I need to do this (Pro, Standard, ...)?

You probably need Visual Studio 2005 for Windows Mobile 5.

The link if for the SDK. Microsoft doesn't seem to want to support the Express editions.

You can do it in any non-Express version of 2005 or 2008.

You may need to download the Windows Mobile SDK to get total support for your version..

Check your MSDN if you have it.

If you don't .. err .. get MSDN...

I know that the Pro version contains WM tools and emulators, not sure about the Standard version though.

Thanks! I found what I needed. Perhaps a dumb question, but how do I actually deploy it to my device?

You will need ActiveSync and some sort of cable to hook your device to your PC (usually a USB cable that comes with the device).

Install ActiveSync, and make sure its running on the PC and the device, then connect the device to your PC.

ActiveSync will automatically kick in and give you the option to synchronise the two up.

Then in Visual Studio, look for the Deploy option in the menus and it will take care of the rest
