4CxbqFxVnstmA Veteran Posted July 22, 2008 Veteran Share Posted July 22, 2008 Heh, I'm the only KDE user it seems: I'm using the Oxygen icons for KDE 3 (it's what KDE 4 uses by default), but other than that, and the login and bootsplash, I haven't customized it. That is a fantastic wallpaper there. Where can it be got? :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/646364-gnu-linux-july-2008-desktops/page/4/#findComment-589576191 Share on other sites

1759
That is a fantastic wallpaper there. Where can it be got? :D Got it from Wikipedia, as well as other pictures; there's a fair amount of high-res pics there to make into wallpapers. As far as the ship wallpaper: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Star The ship is pretty much gone now. :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/646364-gnu-linux-july-2008-desktops/page/4/#findComment-589579108 Share on other sites

cloned420
well I thought I would switch it up but was quite surprised that my own post is still the last post so oh well here it goes, any comments? maybe? I know it's simple but I will say with aptoncd and some forethought you can get a good deb testing install back to where you like it in less than an hour Edited July 30, 2008 by cloned420 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/646364-gnu-linux-july-2008-desktops/page/4/#findComment-589593617 Share on other sites
springofdark
Another one here. Same standalone compiz setup on arch. http://alazanto.org/wrvisuals/screenshots/2008-07-30.png Also, the panel pictured here is lxpanel - it's much lighter - trying to keep everything down to more of a minimum. The font bugs in urxvt are also fixed! I'm now a convert ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/646364-gnu-linux-july-2008-desktops/page/4/#findComment-589596032 Share on other sites
