morphen
Have tried both arctic silver 5 and the zalman thermal grease that came with the cooler. followed the correct instructions to the letter for applying both the grease and AS5, to be sure. with the zalman grease it was running at 44-46C idle. tried running stability tests, and the computer never locks up. BUT, i have to keep the 9700led at full speed, or else it heats up to 56-57C at idle. I have a Chieftec Mesh big tower, so there are no obstacles in the way of the airflow. Have a 92mm fan blowing straight onto the 9700led in the side door, and a 120mm fan in the back for hotair exhaust. Any tips on how to get my temperature down?
