Is the Mail application really needed?

Recommended Posts

i personally have configured all my email accounts in my mail program and it does just fine with all then of them. the greatest benefit is i haven't got to be online, i can actually set folders and flag things, i don't have the problem of the 'all mail' folder of gmail, i can do filters... i can configure the program to see my email either as pop or imap, and i can do all my email work while being offline and the thing will do its part when it gets online again. oh, and RSS.

and all of that with just one email program.

i did use outlook at some point with my old pc, but Mail is way more user friendly.

and easier to use.

i suggest you go for it and try it. worst-case-scenario u'll like it. if not, u'll love it.

only thing is this, and i never got around to figuring out why or... how to fix it.

have an older powerbook with my mail configured, but it never saved the sent messages, even thought it's configured to do so.

now... i have no idea why, but the new machines are doing it perfectly, and are configured in exactly the same way.
