I have recently freshly installed win2k3 and apache onto my server plus all the other bits like AD DNS etc.

I have my main site at anycloud.com and my blog at anycloud.com/blog

for my local domain on AD i use anycloud.lan

now when inside my network and i go to anycloud.com, the site loads fine

if i go to my blog inside the network. So.... /blog the domain redirects automatically from anycloud.com/blog to anycloud.lan/blog

the blog dir does not work outside my network either

can any one help me with this, i cant figure it out :s its never done it before untill now since the re install

have you bought anyclud.com as an internet domain?

have you directed the www record for it to your public ip?

have you forwarded port 80 from your router to your web server?

have you setup /blog as a virtual directory or the apache equivalent?

if not, there's your answer!

yes i Own anycloud.com

yes everything is set up correctly i can access anycloud.com and anyother DIR from outside my network except the BLOG dir

yes port 80 is forwaded otherwise the root of the domain wouldnt work on the public network, which it does work

This is a re install of 2k3, i just backed up the files from the last install then re installed apache after installing 2k3 and copied the files back over to apache. I could access the blog dir before i formatted. I havent set up anything different

Well looking at your site the URL when clicking on Blog attempts to open up anycloud.lan. If typing in the url manually with the correct .com TLD it still tries to redirect to .lan. This suggests to me that the blog software is configured somewhere to use .lan. What blogging software is it you use?

wordpress, ok what your saying seems to make sense, one second let me check the settings in the blog

yay, that seems to of fixed it, can some one confirm for me, http://www.anycloud.com/blog

some reason when setting it up the settings must of auto put in .lan for the website extension for the blog

dude your a legened, thanks lol

    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before passing someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.

    • There really isn't anything magical about the low latency profile, other OS's do this as well. All they're doing is using your CPUs boost clock options in a more smarter way.
    • So we shouldn't have the option because of people using their laptops on battery? OK? LOL
