[vB] Dual Websites with one databse?

Question

I'd like to have this type of setup:

Have two different domains with separate content. But when one user registers for one site, he will have access to the other. When he gets banned from one site, he gets banned from the other, and when he posts on one site, his post count is reflected on the other also.

I currently have active forum, but I'd like to make a sister for it with the above requirements.

All help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Just point both Websites, to ONE Database.

So if www.mysite1.com has the database created on its server.

and lets say mysite2.com is another domain on ANOTHER server, then the database url would be databasename.mysite1.com

if its on the SAME Server then just put in the databasename, username and password like normal and thats it.

I hope that wasnt confusing lol. I really cant explain it.

Cheers.

That is what I originally thought too, but I am wondering if they would conflict with this:

If I create a a forum section called "x" on site1, would that forum section "x" also pop up on site 2?

Also, I have never done a vbulliten forum install with a pre-existing database. Any special steps or something I should be aware of?

Thanks.

If your trying to have the same login for users, that forum x would be duplicated on the new board.

If you want a new user base, just add a prefix to the data tables. It should ask you for a prefix when you are installing.
