What shows did you initially hate and then warm up to?

Recommended Posts

There was only every 2 shows that I thought were just plain crap until I actually gave them a chance.

Beavis & Butthead - Looked so moronic... which it was but that was the point. I eventually liked it.

Farscape - looked like stupid puppets and people in dumb costumes, but then I decided to give it a try and rented the 1st season and got hooked. Now its among my top 3 sci-fi shows with battlestar galactica and Deep space nine (both of which I liked from the get go).

The Office (US). I watched the first season in one go with a friend and wasn't really feeling it. Then I saw the second season about a year later and fell in love with it. To this day I'm not a huge fan of the first season but I still love and watch the show religiously.

Scrubs. Initially, I only caught a couple episodes and thought the whole thing sucked. Eventually, I watched it more and more with a roomate who was in love with the show, and now I am addicted to it as well.

Also, since Ash mentioned it, I have to say Farscape as well. A friend showed it to me, and after the first couple episodes I found all the characters completely unlikeable and hated the show. My friend told me to keep watching though, and it definitely paid off. I absolutely love the show now. Can't wait for the new webisodes!

The Office, now love it.

Hate Aqua Teen what's it, Don't get it.

King of the Hill, use to watch (what now seems ages ago), now Hate it, can't believe it's still on.

I think Heroes, well didn't think about it, watched it with some buds, now love it.

Dexter

I watched the first episode and didn't think much of it. Then about a year later when I had a broken wrist and couldn't work...I decided to watch it because I had nothing else to do. I ended up watching all of season 1 and half of season 2 (all that was out at the time) and loved every minute of it :)

Andromeda, I hated that show like you wouldn't believe. Until about half way into a season and I saw a few more of Lexa Diog's "features", that sold me.

Stargate SG-1 is the other way round. I loved that show, season 8/9/10 were so awful I cant even watch the original stuff

Family Guy, American Dad, Lost, Beavis and Butthead.

From the top of my head... There's prolly more...

Some German stuff, too which probably close to no one around here knows like Stromberg, haha...

Glassed Silver:mac

Battlestar Galactica, tho i cant really say i gave it a chance at all, once i seen starbuck was a woman i changed the channel. Big mistake, after hearing the buzz i eventualy went back and watched the mini series and loved it, then watched the rest and it only got better.

DS9 - but even now i still think the first season or 2 sucked badly, but it did improve.

Family Guy

B5 - the first series just seems like a load of 1 off episodes until you have seen the rest.

Dexter

I watched the first episode and didn't think much of it. Then about a year later when I had a broken wrist and couldn't work...I decided to watch it because I had nothing else to do. I ended up watching all of season 1 and half of season 2 (all that was out at the time) and loved every minute of it :)

Wow I was totally hooked from the first episode of Dexter.

Lost.

I hated series 1, I thought it was totally stupid and I didn't care about the characters back stories at all. Come season 2, my girlfriend wanted me to download it because it was on TV in America much earlier than in the UK.

I watched just the first episode of the second season (having missed almost the entire first season). I was totally scpetical... then I was all like.. ohhh, a hatch. Whats in there? This Loche guy is interesting... etc etc :D

    • ahh yes the good old your opinion differs from mine so you are therefore insane lol destiny 1 had no agenda pushing and was a massive success of a game, if you clearly look online the team for some reason thought they had too many men on the team and went on a woman and dei recruitment drive and we all know how destiny 2 performed from then on in
    • The limited imaginations and business acumen of non-dominant players is simply that: the abject lack of creative business acumen. Businesses often want to operate in a financially-rewarding marketplace (free market economics) and/or exit/cash-out at maximal financial recompense. Money is their incentive; regulations are both their obstacles and their tools; politics is their means of influencing the marketplace. Google, in this story's example, is crying that AWS and Azure are "too dominant" -- cuz Google Cloud is not printing as much money as Alphabet wants (although it is still dramatically more than they actually need). The EU DMA should truly follow-the-money and treat the EU as its own sovereign nation in order to protect European market players: Domestic entities are exempt from market-influence regulations until absolute monopoly is achieved; Foreign (non-EU/non-Euro) entities are all regulated via stricter DMA measures whereby regulated partnership with independent domestic entity becomes the only way for foreign entities to 'tip the scale' for favorable financial remunerations. Basically create a dual-track aligning with China's foreign investment models. In my eyes, this is the only way to properly protect the European marketplace beyond the current dot-com/ai-bubble/social-media crazes.
