RAM purchased from Newegg

so I purchased RAM from Newegg a few weeks ago. This RAM should have worked in the computer I purchased it for (which incidentally didn't have any RAM). However, I try it, and it does not work.

I have come to the conclusion that the motherboard for this computer is faulty. Further, since I do not have any other computers that support DDR RAM, I wish to get a refund, not a replacement.

However, Newegg says that it's under a "manufacturer warranty", which means Newegg does not accept RMAs. Corsair (the manufacturer), however, does. The problem is, they do not offer refunds, only replacements.

Essentially, if I cannot RMA my RAM for a refund, I will be stuck with 2x1024MB of useless (to me) RAM, basically wasting my money.

What should I do?

Ebay comes to mind if you think it is worth it and show the RAM is authentic not some Chinese rip off. That way you might get some of your money back.

Show the box that the ram came in as well as any other documentation you received in a clearly readable picture.

I can't comment on #2 because I don't shop for RAM on Ebay sorry.

Umm that might be stretching it a little bit, but you can mention in the description you have all the documents from a recent purchase and will gladly show them if asked.

Erm... you can return the memory, you'll just have to pay a 15% restocking fee. That's $11.25, which would get you a refund of $63.75 (not including return shipping). You'd probably get the same selling on eBay.

Aha! I sent a customer-service email to Newegg last night, and they replied with an exception RMA number. Thankfully, I can get my money back through Newegg.

I wouldn't sell on eBay until you've exhausted all your other options.

Yep, the very few items i've had to RMA were about as painless as possible.
