Is there a Flash Player for Mac ?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.

I have a swf file on my MAC. When i click on it. OPERA launches and plays the SWF. Is OPERA the default flash player for MAC?

Is there a Flash Player standalone on MAC ? Just like Windows. Instead of using Internet EXPLORER to play the SWF, we can launch Flash Player to run the SWF.

Any idea ?

I don't know if this is correct

na, he means, he wants a stand alone media player which can play the smf file.

As for the answer. Download and install the Adobe media player which plays swf. VideoLan plays them as well, along with the latest and greatest version of real player.

I know VLC plays FLVs, not sure about SWFs.

True, true; I'm remember the Shockwave player on Windows has a stand alone client. With that being said, SWF are being fazed out in favour of flash anyway. I assume is a movie he wants to watch full size - he could always just switch Opera to full scree mode if he wanted; I'm sure there is also a shockwave decompiler too that could extract the video if that is what is inside it.

I am asking this because i am developing a program in JAVA to run a flash file.

In windows, I can manually launch Flash Player.exe to run my swf file. But in MAC, i don't want to use OPERA to watch the swf. I want like a standalone player...

Have you tried Adobe Media Player?
