You can't even tell this level is LBP anymore :p

Give it a watch, definitely the most original entry to come out so far!

It's inspired by some game called Gradius I believe.

Okay first off, this is an example of an announcement I think is cool to stand on it's own for a day or two, then I can merge it with the Official Thread. (Y)

Talking at GameCity in Nottingham today, Alex Evans was asked about the lack of image import in LittleBigPlanet.

The news? He confirmed that this was only pulled from the release of the game because of time constraints, and that the image import tool would be released by Christmas.

For those (many) people that were upset to hear that the PlayStation Eye was going to be the only image import option this will indeed be (completely non-religious) music to their ears.

We?ll have more news from GameCity soon, so keep checking back.

I think this is HUGE. Means people creating custom textures, etc, which can indeed help people customize things even more.

Again, I know there is an Official Topic, I will merge it with that thread in a few days when this thread has run it's course, and it will blend right in with the official thread, as when I merge it goes by Topic Date:yes:s:

I played this game for 3 hours on Saturday, and OMG it is so good :D, me and my brother set the first place time for the Mirrors Edge level (2 player), it was a bit hard and required lots of synchronization but we had so much fun!!!!

Yup I read this, great news (Y)

Some of the textures captured with the eye are decent, but direct implementation will be much better.

PS. DUPE! :p - https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?show...amp;p=590058372 (just kidding ;))

No ones watched this yet?

Get it done, most original level yet :p

Already posted in the official thread :shiftyninja:

Sorry Larry, I had to :p But does indeed sound promising (Y)

And this proves my, and other members beliefs, that things do definitely get lost in the Official Threads, as I did check it real quick to see and did not see it.

yeah i've actually played the level and "broke" it...unless you're supposed to show up in the foreground where the spaceship is, have the ship flying at weird angles, then fall through the ground to the bottom of the stage. :p

Lol, this is good news, I was wondering why this wasn't in there from the beginning.

But I agree with you, news can be posted then eventually merged with the official thread.

while it might be a little extra effort from a mod to have to merge threads every now and then, at least people will see the news properly when it breaks, but it will be cleared away into the Official one so as not to get lots of single news pieces scattered everywhere.

Wouldn't disagree, if you're not constantly reading official topics you're going to miss things.

It's better it's done this way, I just didn't think about it before hand till it was pointed out by you/other members.

Guess it's because I trawl the gaming news sites, end up reading everything

Finally my LPB is on it's way. :D

That is pretty awesome, its great to see how versatile it is. :D

I'm surprised you have a life outside news sites with all the news you post and topics you start with content.

You must live on the internet, zomg bot! :p

This rumor is false

There are a couple of these rumours flying around today, so to clear things up - image importing is very much technically viable which may have been what Alex is referring to, however there are currently no plans to introduce it for a variety of reasons. Announcements of future content releases, whether free, paid for, feature update, costume, sticker or whatever will always come through the official websites for LittleBigPlanet and Media Molecule, if you hear of updates through any other source please take it with a pinch of salt until it has been confirmed or denied.

Right now there are no plans to introduce image importing to the game, and we'll update if that changes.

Gutted :(

I think the fact Alex mentioned it, it will probably be on the way.

Damage control from Sony just now no doubt, so PS Eye sales don't go down

    • Glad these prices are starting to come down, but that is still crazy. I bought the 2TB 9100 Pro (slightly more expensive version with PCIe 5.0) last year for $240.
    • The 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD hits lowest price in over three months by Sayan Sen Yesterday, we covered a really good deal wherein you can get a 4TB TeamGroup T-FORCE G50 NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD for a low price of just $400 with a special discount coupon. That's just $100 per TB, making it a very good offer during these hard times. The deal is still live, so you can check it out in its dedicated article here if you do not want to miss out. Meanwhile, if you don't have that kind of budget but still wish to buy an SSD for a good price, the 2TB variant of the TeamGroup SSD at $280 its lowest price in over three months. Meanwhile, those seeking 2TB but faster performance can check out Samsung's 990 PRO, which has hit the lowest price also in the last quarter or so, as it's on sale for $370 (purchase links under the specs table down below). Thus, you want a faster drive, get the 990 Pro, or you want more capacity, grab the TeamGroup 4TB linked in the first para. The 990 PRO is a PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD and still one of the fastest drives available today for under $500. Speaking of fast, sequential reads and writes are rated at 7450 MB/s and 6900 MB/s, respectively. The random throughputs for reads and writes are 1400K IOPS and 1550K IOPS, respectively. The 990 PRO is based on Samsung's 7th Gen V-NAND flash, and it too is TLC. It packs 2 gigs of LPDDR4 DRAM cache, which helps the random performance. The endurance rating for this is 1200 TBW (terabytes written), which should be sufficient for most users. The Samsung 990 PRO is compatible with the PlayStation 5, but if you are going to use the 990 PRO on a PC, check out the Samsung Magician app that lets you track your drive's health, update its firmware, customize various settings, and more. • If you can't spell a simple word that 2nd graders learn, your entire argument is suspect.
    • And here goes the "Won't someone think of the children" brigade. Get stuffed mate. This has NOTHING to do with making the internet safe. It's about tracking adults, spying on your online activity, and sending the boys around when they don't like something you post. Also, again, parliament have voted TWICE against this, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. THAT is anti-democratic bullsh**. They will use this law to track you, they will use this law to control you, and they will use this law to punish you if they don't like what you do, even if it's legal. And your data? Say bye bye to that. It'll be on the darkweb in weeks. I'm not some rando online. I've been an IT professional for 40 years, many of it in security. I know exactly what this means and what will happen to your data. I do not consent and I will not comply.
    • "...but it may not be Microsoft's fault" seems like a reasonable way to tease what is going on without leaving the user with a false impression that an update is the problem. A title isn't a summery, it is meant to entice the user to read the article. It should not contain a misleading premise; which this title does not. You could maybe complain that the first paragraph should have included that detail. The writing style popularized over 100 years ago in newspapers will cover the most important information as soon as possible with details and nuance added later; the idea being that with each new paragraph you have less of the reader's focus.
