By the way, finally some word on online co-op creation

Hello all,

We have an update for you on some upcoming LBP patches!

Since returning from our much needed break we have been busy working on a mixture of things (fixes, some new & exciting stuff and the code clean up I mentioned a while back). You may know by now that we name each of our LittleBigProjects after cheeses! We are soon going to be adding a new feature to our website, ?the cheese board?, where we?ll keep detailed information on all the various LBP cheeses, as they mature. That way you?ll have a good idea of what?s coming up. Until then a written update will need to do!!

Edam contains a set of bug fixes and is currently in testing. We are hoping for this to be out into the world by mid February (fingers crossed). Specifically the fixes are:

* Failed to save profile? message not being displayed when a users profile is full.

* Object Capture Bug: switch connectors being deleted when an object is captured.

* Failed to load profile issue :where the user is thrown out to the XMB due to a texture that is not registered in their profile being present in their pod.

* Text not displaying in the text chat window.

* Slow rewind due to moderation check.

* Save file corruption which caused the game to crash when placing any object in an emitter in any level.

Cornish Yarg contains many fabulous things, most excitingly new creative abilities ? woo!! This will be a big delivery and so we want to make sure that it gets to you without any bugs and so we are planning very extensive testing which may involve some of you guys (more details out soon). This has only just started the testing process which usually takes 6-8 weeks minimum. Further announcements will be made in February.

Leerdammer: This delivery will really help people who are experiencing issues with lagging/packet loss. This improvement is still in development, which means it will be out after Cornish yarg but we aren?t sure when, rest assure Amy is hard at work. Announcements will be made throughout feb.

Please check our FAQ, Anton will be updating it on Friday with some answers to some of the most common questions!

LBP arrived this morning, just waiting for it to patch right now. Whatever happened to the Neowin level AB?

I got intimidated by how awesome some of the levels are looking nowadays - Like the one I just posted above :p

Plus I was holding out for the rumours of a patch allowing you to use images off your hard drive. Unless that happens I'll need to buy an EyeToy to do a NW level.

images off the HDD could prove controversial lol. I need to start playing with the editor methinks.

The community right now has been pretty mature, I don't think I've seen many rustles about bad things. I think the fact you can lose your ability to upload would deter most people.

It's definitely do-able, it's just will MM ever patch it into our retail builds [above is a shot from the MM archives - internal build]

Might try to create something NW themed using just the editor. Can you not use a regular USB webcam with the PS3 then? I was under the impression you could.

I think you can, but I believe some games require an eye-toy to work with specific in-game commands.

OK, published a short level, somewhat broken a little but copyable. Spent several hours on it and even created a little neowin logo. Does someone wanna try fix it???

Level is called "Coldgunners 1st Neowin"

I'll check it out :D

No, it never does get old.

Seen here is a pretty spiffy LittleBigPlanet-themed desk calendar that reader Renor, from Poland, received as a promotional item from SCEP. The book is about 400 pages thick.

    • MVS subscribers got the proper 26200.8655 Win11 25H2 ISO downloads as of 6/16/2026 avoiding this whole MCT fiasco by MS. I'll obtain the official 8655 MVS ISO download instead.
    • too bad the "backend" June 2026 ESD files are still at build 26200.8653 and not at the correct build 26200.8655 release. I'll avoid using the MCT for several weeks until late July 2026
    • Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Reality Elite chip brings on-device AI to Android XR devices by Pradeep Viswanathan Qualcomm has been delivering dedicated SoCs for mixed reality and spatial computing devices for several years. The journey started with the Snapdragon XR1, followed by the Snapdragon XR2 in 2019, the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 in September 2023, and finally the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 in 2024. Today, Qualcomm announced a major upgrade with the new Snapdragon Reality Elite Platform, which targets premium mixed reality and spatial computing devices. OEMs can use this SoC to power both all-in-one video-see-through headsets and lightweight, tethered optical-see-through glasses. Qualcomm highlighted that the Snapdragon Reality Elite will power the next wave of Android XR devices coming later this year. These wearables will offer better visuals, improved power efficiency, and deeper on-device AI integration compared to the previous generation. The Snapdragon Reality Elite can deliver up to 48 TOPS of AI performance, allowing large language models and large vision models to run directly on the device for the first time. In addition to enabling new spatial AI experiences, these new AI capabilities will improve head and hand tracking, as well as see-through features. On the performance side, the Snapdragon Reality Elite offers up to 60% higher GPU performance, up to 30% higher CPU performance, and up to 160% higher NPU performance compared to the previous generation. The platform supports visuals of up to 4.4K per eye at 90 frames per second for sharper images and smoother motion. Qualcomm is also claiming significant efficiency improvements. The Snapdragon Reality Elite can offer up to 20% longer battery life under the same workload. More importantly, the chipset can run up to 12 degrees Celsius cooler under load, making headsets more comfortable for users to wear for longer periods. The platform also includes improvements to video see-through, featuring lower latency and better image quality. Qualcomm states that its EVA hardware block helps accelerate demanding computer vision workloads, improving how digital content blends with the real world.
    • Umm... GitHub continues to use AWS. That's the story, that's the headline. There's no "new" news here. GitHub continues to require additional capacity beyond the originally-planned Azure allocations. There's nothing special about this; nothing noteworthy. They're still using AWS' infra until the cutover is complete.
