It's like, she wants me, but then she wants him.

most of the girls like that... Well actually all of them. They like to be the center of their universe. Not yours universe. The thing here is what you wanna do with her. In your place I would kick her ass off and go for the next.

And dont think about it that much. Kick her off.

I have a question, have you EVER offically made it clear you are boyfriend and girlfriend. I dont recall reading that anywhere. Maybe YOU think your her boyfriend, but she see's you as just a normal friend. And now she has a real boyfriend, you are getting jealous.

Yep. I'm pretty sure this is the situation...

You may think your an item, she might not. What happened to having the "talk". Doesn't people do that anymore?

The crazy people like this are best dealt with by a simple ass kicking.

Take him to a place where you know your girl wont see. Then beat the crap outta him and say if he even thinks of trying to be her BF you will kick his ass on a daily basis.

Take extreme caution to avoid the face as this is a dead give away.

In this situation, it is best to just let it be and distance yourself from her. What's the quickest way for a girl to know what she's missing? WHEN SHE IS MISSING IT!!! If she isn't missing it, you've done yourself a favor and gotten yourself away from a girl who doesn't want you as more than friends. You can now put your efforts towards a new girl will ask how high when you say jump.

I was in a situation where the girl I was in love with did not feel the same way about me, even though it seemed like it. In the end, I nearly lost a best friend because I was too blind to see that that's all we were. Luckily she talked to me again 8 months later after I came to my senses. Wouldn't want you to have to go through the same thing if this girl means something to you. It's better to have at least some part of her in your life than none of her.

She might like you and was only testing whether you're sticking with her no matter what

Or she might be dating him behind your back.

Maybe she's dating someone else, and using him as a cover.

You'll never know what these women are up to.. :shifty: (not meant as a sexist comment. I truly find women to be some of the greatest mysteries on earth).

I'd say the best is to square it up with her. Ask her if the past 2 years really meant as much to her as they did to you. Dont chicken out just yet. As I said she may have reasons for doing so.

Or not.. Who knows?

Thanks again all for your input. I'm glad I posted this because 2 people here reminded me of something very important, it might be the key.

@PermaSt0ne

To tell you the truth, she did leave me once before for another guy she met at her college. (reasons unknown) I didn't hear from her for a few months as she blocked me on her MSN too. She then wrote an email about how sorry she was and that he left her for another girl. She rambled on about how gentle I was and how caring I was to her, so I accepted her back. This leads me now to the next post to:

@WolfDV

I should let history repeat itself. Let her learn his true colors. She's not the type to go intimate, it scares the hell out of her. I know though that he is definately the type to want to get a girl's goods. My only concern is the four letter R word... Should I just let her find out what kind of person he is then?

Does that sound acceptable? But I definately won't accept a 3rd time. What do you think now?

anyone who cheats or messes around with another persons heart is a very low and dirty person. Best to forget about it and find someone who will respect you and treat you how you think you deserve to be treated. Dont let it go any further, or you will only end up hurting more. Also, dont let her the be one to end it, because then you might feel like you lost out, instead of maybe feeling like you are actually moving on to greener pastures.

Trust me though, its not worth the hassle of thinking someone is cheating on you. This is coming from experience. Tell her how it is, if it isnt, then walk away. end of story.

I take it with Jack Bauer in your display picture, it is the ONLY way to solve a problem isn't it?

Serious the guy is fronting with you like that and you havent roughed him up already? Jesus

Once you get a warning, do it again and it's going down - Wouldnt let my honour be insulted like that and the guy be screwing things up with the girl your seeing?

Best advice was before, out of sight of your girl - turf him up but try to avoid facial otherwise its a dead giveaway, ribs/stomach/legs (Knees)/groin are good choices.

I'm not usually an advocate of fighting but situations like that I would..

thats what i'm starting to think.... He mentioned they were an "item" but he needs to elaborate on that a bit; were they actually dating? boy/girlfriend? physically intimate .. or what? or is this just some sorta weird online thing?

I think our poster thinks they were "in a relationship" , but the more i read the thread, it sounds more like that's not quite the case; and the other guy is actually in that meaningful relationship, while the poster is just the nice friend that wishes there was more.

Unless you've been together for a while, regularly having sex, and are quite in tune with each others thoughts, then you're not a couple.... without those levels of intimacy you're nothing more than just good friends.

just curious, how old is the original poster btw?

ya it was officially announced on day 1 that we're bf/gf. officially announced again when she came back after the first guy left her. just read up a lil, or on the last page, i said it before.

Definately calls for a bit of a "Talk" with this guy then...

If he aint gonna back off, guess you need to make him back off...

Here's some emails. Check it out.

First letter is when the "first" problem started (before the random disappearance)

This second letter is when she returned.

I grow depressed. I guess it's time to close topic, I already now know what I'll do. Thanks again everyone! It was a good read, lots of opinions that made me think hard.

oh ps - it was in chat that she asked me to be her boyfriend again. i said yes.

Is your GF Asian?

seriously, you should fade yourself out for the time being. when she realises that shes the one who is going to have to earn you and not the other way around then it will be apparent. also i would highly suggest not taking her back as easily this time. make sure u let her know that you are definately not playing around. the first time you took her back, you let her know that she could do it again, and get away with it.

simply, dont confront her, and dont be friendly with her. just fade out. also, stop being her "friend". she only seems to want to have you as that side friend whom she can always let out and be emotional with. dont let it happen.

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
