I love this theme!!! BUT i have one problem! I use the instant messanger "miranda" and there you can use your contactwindows as "toolstyle window" don't know, what that means BUT in that mode you can easily click on your systray-icon to close this app to tray and open. But with Watercolor Style it stays on desktop. All other themes i tried are working in this mode! In normal mode (not toolstyle) you have all three normal windows-buttons and there is a taskbar-entry for the open window (wich steals space for other apps).

Maybe there is anybody out there using miranda and don't has this problem. But miranda dev's say it has to be a bug in the theme (i also would say as an dev of miranda ;) )...

Thanks

P.S. I have these probs with watercolor xp v4.2 and watercolor lite from this topic.

I just dloaded miranda and have tested it. It works fine in my version. I have updated a few things so maybe something was fixed, but regardless it does work now. I'm not sure when the next updat5e will be though. Can't you just use the normal version of the titlebar instead of tool window mode?

Chris

Of course i can... there's no other skin that satisfy me this way... most time the contactlist of miranda is minimized so its no problem!

One question regarding Winamp skins: Could you do one, maybe??? There are some out there, but the only really good is for Winamp3 and that sucks... only a question ;)

Thanks for your quick reply!!!

Any chance of making a smaller start menu and changing the red close box on the small window?

Red close box is already gone in the latest build. And No, I wont be making a small start menu version.

Chris

Watercolor Lite has classic taskbar size (not thin as thin but classic thin) whereas Watercolor has the Luna sized taskbar or fat taskbar.

Also menu Hilights in Lite are smaller.

Chris

I know you don't like compact start menus, but how about one without the user id picture.

That is decided by your Windows settings. If you use Windows XP Home, you're out of luck.

If you're using Windows XP Pro,

  • Start > Control Panel
  • Click User Accounts
  • Choose the "change how I log on" option
  • Turn on classic logon

Here ya go semifamous & kainash:D:D ....

Radish.

I have made a "modded" version of the Ergonomic Winamp-Skin. It now contains skin for Media Library, Video Window and Showcover plugin...:D:D

I hope I don't break any Boardrules...

    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • I have disabled it, but the app is still taking space. I have a Mac and it is only possible to disable Ai on that, but I think that bit does get rid of the AI components after a while. What we are told is that we agree to all this when we use the devices as it is in the end user agreements, their software, they can do what they like. I doubt that any bill will happen in the U.S, the government there are in league with big tech firms. The E.U maybe, they seem to have some guts when it comes to tech companies. The U.K is not in the E.U, but some things still affect us. Our government is as gutless when it comes to tech companies as the U.s government.
