I just 're'-installed my system, and the first thing I did (without realising it) was installing Watercolor ...

Any idea how I can check which version I installed? Can't find the install-file anywhere, mustah deleted it ...

Anyway, has there been anyone who's seen the black version actually work??? I would like to see it in action :)

Anyway, Binary, U did a helluva job, 10.000x thanks :D

It's time for the bi-monthly Watercolor Lite thread bump! :D

I remember reading that Binary's next release (cough) would only include the blue and ergonomic schemes. IMO, the next version should include every possible color of the rainbow, so Watercolor freaks can use it all the time, if they don't already. ;) It would officially match any wallpaper you throw at it. :)

Attached is a wallpaper that goes wonderfully with WL's original blue scheme. I'm hoping there's a series of other colors, trying to look for them on the net. I may attempt to make something like them, although I currently pretty much suck at teh graphics programs.

Edit: Attaching .jpg didn't work, zipped the file.

Does anyone know how to remove the shadowing on the titlebar font? I noticed in old screen shots of the whistler os that the title bar font was a smoothed over white, with no shadowing (similar to the Trillian Pro default skin). Is there anyway to modify this skin so that it too has a similar title bar font? The difference is small so I've put them next to each in a screen shot:

Two minor annoyances:

1. Taking a screenshot of a window using Alt+PrtSc also captures a couple rows above the current window; I think this has already been mentioned in the thread, but it is a slight annoyance. For what it's worth, this same bug exists in a number of other themes as well, including OpusOS and iBar.

2. Buttons using a non-standard font or font size show up in 8-point Tahoma instead. Admittedly, there aren't many programs that use a non-standard font or size for buttons, but still, it ruins the appearance of those programs' interfaces.

Other than that, it's an excellent theme, and one of the ones I regularly put into rotation.

Hi Binary! You still with us? :D

If you're interested in fixing bugs, then take a look at this one:

acrobat6sm.png

Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro with Watercolor Lite 2.11

classic9qs.png

Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro with Windows Classic

Notice the dropdown button, it is too small.

And in the first screenshot you can see the bug that codeman38 mentioned (see 2 posts above).

The same happens in Office 2003, in the open dialog:

open4rx.png

Other than these minor bugs, Watercolor is just great! :)

It only happens with Watercolor. Luna, Kuantum and other VS don't have this problem...

In other words, a VS based off an early MS one, has this problem. No??? I don't know. :(

Watercolor is the way WindowsXp should have looked in the first place, beats Luna anyway. IMHO.

I hope Binary may revisit it someday to make improvements, but until then, it still works and is a "Classic" VS that all should hope to become. :D

Unfortunately I think I'm done with the msstyle side of things. It's just a huge pain in the ass to use a shoddy program like stylebuilder to make these styles. I am However looking into the possibilities of updating the style for WindowBlinds. I've been using my own personal port of Watercolor Lite with all the addons (logoff screen, taskpane etc.) for about 6 months now. So it wouldnt take much to add some fresh ideas to this old style. I also have a lot more time now since I'm currently unemployed. :)

We'll see how things go, when I get bored I get artistic. ;)

I've been using Watercolor Lite for about six months now, and I absolutely love it! The only problem I see is the bug with Acrobat Reader and Office. I hope you get some enthusiasm going and get on top of this problem.

I've also used Watercolor. It doesn't have the problem, but it has other features which I don't like. Watercolor Lite works great in my laptop where the display size is limited.

I'd really like to see this theme updated. In my eyes it really is the best visual style for XP in, well, ever! Thank you very much for this vs, and keep up the good work :)

    • The problem is in the fundamentals of how businesses are allowed to operate and the change should happen in the basics and certain consumer friendly and moral practices should be enforced by law. This would fix so many things, not just this ages old default browser issue which is a tiny drop in the backut that includes a flood of privacy and other issues.
