repalcing explorer with some file manager

Is there any freeware file manager that can integrate with Windows? What I mean is when I click on a folder/shortcut the alternate file manager will open instead of explorer.

I know Directory Opus can replace explorer, but I want a freeware app.

well I know first hand that xyplorer integrates into the shell if you want it to, don't know about the others

I think Xplorer2 can do that also by applying a small registry hack.

I use xplorer2 (free version) from a Quick Launch shortcut and never even think about launching Windows Explorer.

Also with editor2, the excellent notepad that you get with xplorer2.

Do you happen to know how to make DirectFolders (free version) work w/ xplorer2 lite?
