yeah I think it is pasted to cover up the programs, besides I never seen anything about that before.

the real cool thing is these start menus that only have the icons of the 2nd colum in them

Marduk: Which start menus are like that? I haven't seen any o.O But the idea sounded nifty so I threw together a fake of Watercolor with just icons in the second column...looks really nice like that actually. Less intrusive but still all the functionality. Ho hum.

It's very possible. Dig out StyleBuilder, edit the StartMenu BMP/PNG (I can't remember. :p ) and change it in Photoshop or any other program that you would like to use to edit it.

hmm i think there's an option in stylebuilder where u can place bitmaps on the background...but i think mike is right with this
