Who is buying then?

I'm going to check the trial out later tonight. I need to see what the fuss is about.

Is it available on the European store?

Demo is out in the USA store just now.

Comes out in the EU store with todays update along with the game.

yup.. I'm def gonna go dl this with in the next hour

some of those trophies seem pretty crazy for a bronze trophy... shouldn't they be silver O.o

* All Gardens Clear - Get a Spectra in each garden

* Fifteen Crystals - Get fifteen crystals in a single jump

* Zero Wasted Pollen - Open all seeds in a garden without missing any pollen

anyways... nice to see a long trophy list

oh.. does this game support custom soundtracks?

Just spent the last 2.5 hours player Eden :D ... of which 45 of them was fiddling with my not-so-smooth installation process..

Here is what happened in case anyone else runs into it...

Since I already had the demo.. all I had to get from the PSN was an 'unlock code'. After handing over my $10.45 to Sony... the 100kb code downlaoded and installed. I went to the game menu... and the demo was still there... nothing changed... loaded up the demo to see if I had to activate it or something... but nope.. it was still the demo....

I went to 'Game Utility Data' and there I found a 24kb file of Eden... just sitting there. It was time-stamped with the time I installed the full-version... so clearly something was not right... since it was just sitting there... so I deleted it and downloaded it again... I did this about 3 times... same result every time...

Then I tried deleting the saved data from the demo and installing the unlock code... same result...

After 40min and ingresingly angry at this point... N1ghtz suggested I removed the demo and see what happened... so I did that. I removed the demo and the 24kb file in 'Game Utility Data'. Went tot he PSN... re-downloaded the demo (couldn't do full version since the demo was already tied to my account, so all I saw was the 'unlock code') - all 107mb of it - and re-installed. I then re-downloaded (for the 100th time a this point...) the 'unlock' file... watched it install and BINGO! Full version of Eden. :D :D

Do I get to keep my trophies from the demo?

 you got trophies from the demo??

PS: I would have really liked for this game to have a custome soundtrack option.. :(... don't get me wrong.. the music is great.. but I thought it was gonna be the 1st game to use the in-game XMB music option.. guess not

yup.. I'm def gonna go dl this with in the next hour

They should be platinum to me!! I will never get them I dont think.

I only played for about 45 minutes, and already I am having a problem getting the 3rd Spectra on Garden 1.

Great game so far, has anyone played Garden 7 yet?

That level screwed my mind up.

There is an enemy, well, a thing, that flies around and changes the gravity at certain points in the f ur different directions, totally screws up my mind when trying to jump, I spent like half an hour jumping round trying to get the second spectra, whenever I got close it would change the direction of gravity and screw me over, lol.

The reason for all but one of them being Bronze is so they could put so many in.

A guy on the PS blog explains it best.

No platinum. Gold, they (PSN titles) can have, but no platinum.

The thing is, under the hood there?s a point system for the different levels of trophies. A PSN game can only have so much upon release, and then so much for an add-on. PJ Eden clearly needed more trophies. More trophies = lower levels for each one.

That?s why PJE w/o any expansion has 20 different trophies, while SSDHD only had 12.

Let me do a further breakdown:

SSDHD: 7 Bronze, 4 Silver, One Gold

PJE - 19 Bronze, One Silver

SSDHD 1st expansion - 2 Bronze, 2 Silver

SSDHD 2nd expansion - One Gold

Now, let?s apply a point value for each one, for argument?s sake.

We?ll say Bronze = 1, Silver = 2, and Gold = 6. Let?s look at it keeping that in mind.

SSDHD - 21

PJE - 21

SSDHD 1st expansion - 6

SSDHD 2nd expansion - 6

not that I wouldn't want more golds or silvers, especially considering some of the bronze ones look almost impossible, but its understandable why they are mostly Bronze.

I myself have the trophies for Garden 1,2 &3 and also the killing 500 pollen and chaining 10 kills.

Some I doubt I will ever get like the not wasting :py pollen. :p

@ Corris: You already are in Garden 7????

I just finished Garden 3 this morning. Got 4 trophies. All seeds in first 3 garden and Combo Ten but there are some bronze trophies that are really hard to get.

I really like this game, but apparently I really suck at it reading your guys progress.

I guess I need to put in more than 45 minutes though too. I purposely did not play much of the demo waiting for the final version, and I think that has hurt me.

Well on Friday nights my wife always passes out by midnight and then I become a night owl, so I plan on putting a good two hours into this game tonight, and hopefully will clear garden 01.

One HUGE question I have..

While playing the game, it says that the silk will indicate the closest Spectra, and I am not sure what they mean by that??? I notice it gets brighter and pulses a little, but I still am not sure what it means.

Okay, second HUGE question I have.. :p

Is it safe to say the general rule of thumb is just to move upwards as much as possible?

being in Garden 7 doesn't mean he's done with 1-6

maybe he just skipped them?

Heh, no I'm not in Garden 7 yet, I play each garden once when I can get to it just to see what's new and fancy.

7 was just in reach so I had a go, I myself am only on the second Spectre of Garden 4, lol.

And in a min I have to disappear off to see the gf, which means no Eden till tomorrow. :(

Woe is me! *dramatic pose*

I hope you all enjoy the game while I'm gone, don't get too far ahead

And in a min I have to disappear off to see the gf, which means no Eden till tomorrow. :(

really?? spending time with a girl makes you :( ? If you don't live with her..then I don't see any reason to be :( about :p

I hope you all enjoy the game while I'm gone, don't get too far ahead

lol - don't worry... I just played for like 45min last night and I've only gotten 3 spectras of the 1st garden. But then again.. I'm focusing on getting a high score more than just beating the game. I'm currently at position 6400 something on the global leader board :p

The indicator is a darker line that is left after you pass the direction of the next spectra with your silk, so if you're spinning full 360 circles there should be a dark line clearly visible in the direction of the next spectra

Is it safe to say the general rule of thumb is just to move upwards as much as possible?

From what I played, no. You usually have to travel sideways to get a few before moving up to the next height, and you usually can't move directly sideways unless you're opening every flower so you usually have to travel down and to the side and then start climbing again.

Thanks for the information, extremely helpful.

Either my TV's colors are messed up, or I have just never noticed the dark line, I hope it is the latter.

Definitely thanks.

Man, that line showing up indicating the direction of the next Spectra is HUGE. It really helps not wandering around aimlessly, no doubt.

I literally just wanted to see what it was about, and I got all 3 Spectra in Garden 01 in less time than it took me to find the first one now that I know about this indication line!!

hhm.. I haven't noticed it yet either.

I'm out of work in about 45min.. can't wait to get home and check this out

    • An actual cosmic "Eye of Sauron" had been looking straight at us all along by Sayan Sen Image by Kovin P. Vasquez via Pexels | Not representative An international team of researchers has solved a long-standing mystery surrounding a distant blazar known as PKS 1424+240, helping explain why it produces some of the brightest high-energy gamma rays and cosmic neutrinos ever observed despite appearing to have a relatively slow-moving jet. The findings were published on June 6 in Astronomy & Astrophysics Letters. The study addresses a broader challenge in astrophysics: understanding how extreme cosmic objects accelerate particles to very high energies and produce very high-energy (VHE) photons and neutrinos. PKS 1424+240 is located billions of light-years from Earth. It has attracted attention for years because it is both a powerful source of VHE gamma rays and the brightest known neutrino-emitting blazar in the sky, according to observations by the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. It is also associated with one of the strongest peaks in IceCube's nine-year neutrino sky map A blazar is a type of active galactic nucleus powered by a supermassive black hole that pulls in surrounding matter and launches jets of plasma moving close to the speed of light. What makes blazars unique is their orientation. One of their jets points almost directly toward Earth, making them appear exceptionally bright across the electromagnetic spectrum and allowing scientists to study some of the most extreme physical processes in the Universe. The scientists exclaimed it's like the 'Eye of Sauron' in deep space. Usually, the brightest gamma-ray-emitting blazars are expected to have jets that appear to move very quickly. However, radio observations of PKS 1424+240 suggested that its jet was moving much more slowly, creating a contradiction that became part of a long-running problem known as the "Doppler factor crisis." To investigate, researchers analyzed 15 years of observations from the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA), a network of 10 radio antennas spread across the continental United States, Hawaii and St. Croix. Using a technique called Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), astronomers combine signals from widely separated radio telescopes to create a virtual Earth-sized telescope capable of revealing extremely fine details. The team combined 42 polarization-sensitive radio images collected between 2009 and 2025, creating a much deeper and more detailed view of the jet than had previously been possible. The observations were carried out as part of MOJAVE (Monitoring Of Jets in Active galactic nuclei with VLBA Experiments), a long-running program that studies the brightness, polarization and magnetic field structures of jets produced by active galaxies. The project aims to better understand how activity near supermassive black holes is linked to high-energy radiation and neutrino emission. “When we reconstructed the image, it looked absolutely stunning,” said Yuri Kovalev, lead author of the study and Principal Investigator of the European Research Council-funded MuSES project at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy. “We have never seen anything quite like it — a near-perfect toroidal magnetic field with a jet, pointing straight at us.” The image revealed an unusual geometry. The researchers found that Earth lies almost directly in line with the jet, with a viewing angle of less than 0.6 degrees. In simple terms, astronomers are looking almost straight down the jet. This turned out to be the key to the mystery. Because the jet is aimed almost directly at Earth, a relativistic effect called Doppler boosting dramatically increases its apparent brightness. The study found that this effect boosts the emission by a factor of about 30 while also making the jet appear slower than it actually is. “This alignment causes a boost in brightness by a factor of 30 or more,” said Jack Livingston, a co-author at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy. “At the same time, the jet appears to move slowly due to projection effects — a classic optical illusion.” The nearly head-on view also gave scientists a rare look at the jet's magnetic field. Using polarized radio signals, they detected a clear toroidal, or doughnut-shaped, magnetic field component. The observations suggest the jet carries an electric current and that its magnetic field helps launch, shape and stabilize the flow of plasma. Researchers believe this magnetic structure may also play a key role in accelerating particles to energies high enough to produce both gamma rays and neutrinos. “Solving this puzzle confirms that active galactic nuclei with supermassive black holes are not only powerful accelerators of electrons, but also of protons — the origin of the observed high-energy neutrinos,” Kovalev said. The research was conducted under the MuSES (Multi-messenger Studies of Energetic Sources) project, which investigates how active galactic nuclei accelerate particles and generate different cosmic signals, including light and neutrinos. Scientists say understanding how protons are accelerated and linked to neutrino production remains one of the major unanswered questions in astrophysics. The findings help explain why some blazars can appear to have slow jets while still producing extremely bright high-energy emissions. More broadly, the study strengthens the link between relativistic jets, magnetic fields, gamma rays and high-energy neutrinos. Researchers say the results provide new clues about how some of the Universe's most powerful natural particle accelerators work and offer important insights for multimessenger astronomy, which combines different types of cosmic signals to study extreme events in space.
