Smallville Season 8!

Excellent ep, things are finally moving forward. The ep intro scene (cast pics and their names, etc) now shows Clark wearing the glasses and suit, like in the films, and all the hints so far in this ep point to him finally putting on his cape :woot:

That said, I do this the continuation of the plot from S7 was weak, him being controlled = him loosing his powers. Was kinda lame.

Kinda lame that after a whole season of build up and Clark finally losing his powers, he gets it back in the first episode.

IMO he should've been at the russian camp for a few more episodes and struggled his way out.

Did anyone else notice that Lana, Lex and Kara were missing in the intro? I guess we wont be seeing them for a while. =/

this season is gonna be lame. missing 3 important chars...

Well there are some important questions you need to ask...

1. Lex - how long can they have him and Clark going circles round each other? And what happens now that Lex knows that Clark is not of this world?

2. Lana - what role could she have after everything in the last two seasons? Clark's story will never move on if she is still around. Regardless of how much id like to press the flesh....

3. Kara - this is the one that confuses me, she comes and goes all in one season? We never really knew what happened to her either. This needs to be resolved.

Fans didn't kick out Lana. She left to act in Street Fighter, Kristen said she'll act this season in some episodes, and um... clark is out of the barn... he has to go to lois eventually... time to move on.

Kara is too powerful to be in a second season as a regular... it stunts clarks learning. Again, Lara said she'll be back as well.

I just want Bart to join the team.

Delirious, Oliver flashes back to when he was stranded on an island and first learned how to use a bow and arrow. He also recalls meeting Tess (Cassidy Freeman) for the first time on that island after she had been kidnapped by a drug runner. UPDATED 9/29/08: Clark finds out about Chloe's new ability to process information at an extremely fast rate.

The CW's Official Description (Added 9/19/08): DC COMICS CHARACTER MAXIMA SETS HER SIGHTS ON CLARK ? Tess (Cassidy Freeman) and her team perform tests on Clark?s (Tom Welling) crystal that she had retrieved from the arctic, causing it to send a beam of light into the universe. This triggers the arrival of Maxima (guest star Charlotte Sullivan), a queen from the planet Almerac, who is searching for her soulmate, who she believes sent the signal. Unfortunately, Maxima?s power is too great for mortal men and her kiss kills them. The seductive Maxima arrives in Metropolis and begins her search, starting with Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore).

They need to get back Michael Rosenbaum (sp) and the other cast members back STAT. I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but I'd rather have Clark vs. Lana for the billionth time already. :(

No MR is bad, yes, but I'd argue that this season is FAR superior to the previous two in just about every way so far.

They need to ramp it up faster... feels like too many filler episodes now... We know what this season is about, we also know the fortress will be restored... get on with it

Although, I will admit, yesterday's episode was good, but in hindsight I wouldn't have cared if I had missed it

    • Are they marketed as an entry into astronomy or astrophotography? I do astrophotography. With big rigs, lots of computers, cables and headaches. I love it. And by learning this ridiculously complex hobby, I’ve learned about the objects I’m shooting. Astronomy followed from photography.
    • Microsoft confirms Recycle Bin bug across all versions of Windows by Usama Jawad A couple of days ago, we reported that the latest Patch Tuesday update has seemingly resulted in a lot of issues for many users, including OneDrive and Dropbox access problems, BitLocker recovery lockouts, and BSODs. Although Microsoft is yet to acknowledge these bugs, it has confirmed another, relatively smaller issue across all supported versions of Windows. In an update on its Windows Release Health Dashboard, Microsoft has confirmed that after installing June's Patch Tuesday update (KB5094126), you'll experience unexpected behavior when leveraging Recycle Bin. Basically, when you attempt to delete an item from the Recycle Bin, the confirm dialog will show you the internal file name of that content rather than the actual name. For example, the file may be named abc.png, but the confirm dialog will ask if you're sure that you want to permanently delete $Rxxxxx.png from the Recycle Bin. This is pretty much it for the scope of the bug itself; it just displays the wrong name in the confirm dialog. The correct name will be shown in the list view of the Recycle Bin and if you restore the file, it will return with the correct name as well. This issue affects pretty much all supported versions of Windows client and server, including: Client: Windows 11, version 26H1; Windows 11, version 25H2; Windows 11, version 24H2; Windows 11, version 23H2; Windows 10, version 22H2; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016 Server: Windows Server 2025; Windows Server 2022; Windows Server 2019; Windows Server 2016; Windows Server 2012 R2; Windows Server 2012 As things currently stand, Microsoft is working on a concrete solution that will be released in a "future" Windows update. It remains to be seen if the firm will wait till the next Patch Tuesday or roll out an out-of-band (OOB) fix. The good news is that commercial customers can deploy a workaround right now, but they will have to reach out to Microsoft Support for Business for additional details.
    • They said by this time everyone will have flying cars. WELL...
    • A study by physicist Henry Tye of Cornell University suggests that the universe may not expand forever. Instead, it could eventually stop expanding, begin contracting and end in a "Big Crunch" roughly 20 billion years from now. Maybe not as we now know that time can flow backwards.
    • Of course. Simply reverse the polarity.
