Good pick on the G8, but is it under 30k? Also nothing wrong with the older Mazda 6. It looks every bit as good as the new one, shares a lot of the same parts, is based on the same platform and comes out of the same plants. The Hyundai deserves consideration also; that company has made huge strides in the last 5 to 10 years.

Here's another vote for Hyundai. I haven't driven any of their larger cars, but I did get to drive two different Accents (3-door hatch and 4-door sedan) and I was impressed with their quality.

Their new cars are leaps and bounds above the Pony, and their prices are usually several thousands cheaper than their Japanese competitors.

As for the Mazda6, it's a good car too (and like most Mazdas, a blast to drive) but it's a bit small; 3 adults barely fit in the back. The 2009 version is supposedly significantly bigger and more powerful.

Might want to check out the Nissan Altima, too. I recently drove one on a 4000km road trip, and had plenty of room (the trunk is huge) while getting about 35MPG. It only had the 4-cylinder engine, but it felt more powerful because of the CVT.

first off, Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, Ford Fusion, and Mazda 6 are not considered full size cars. They're mid-size. (even though 2008 EPA considers the Accord as full-size.. i'm looking at it competition wise, it's still equal to the Altima, fusion, Camry and 6)

Full size cars are, Chevy Impala, MAYBE Dodge Charger/300, Nissan Maxima, Toyota Avalon, Buick Lucerne, Hyundai Azera.

I've been in a 2006 Azera before, i rented it for four days and it gets boring very quickly, you get a lot of stuff, but it loses appeal very quickly and you can tell in a few years time interior parts will not hold up.

My Vote, if you haven't guessed already ;) is the Nissan Maxima.

I don't think full size was a requirement for the OP; just that it be capable of seating 5 adults. I hope it will not be hauling 5 a lot of the time, so mid-size should be sufficient. If it has to do 5 all the time then I'm thinking a crossover (shudder) might be in order. The Nissan Maxima is another nice car. However it only gets 19/25 mpg I believe.

On Pontiac's website it states that the G8 starts ranges from $27,595 to $29,995 but I'm sure you could get a dealer to offer it to you for less if know how. Pontiac also have $1,500 cash back on the G8 at the moment according to there site.

Jeremy Clarkson did a review of the G8 on top gear vs a BMW M5 I believe it was if you are interested.

I just read Edmund's review of the G8 where they put it up against the Super Bee. I'm pretty impressed by it. I'll be sure to re watch the top gear episode with it in. Thanks for the heads up.

Anytime. Its Season10 Episode 8.

He actually reviewed a Vauxhall VXR8 but don't let the different badge fool you.

The stig managed 1.31.3 around the track in it beating the likes of the BMW M3, Mercedes AMG, Nissan 350Z, Ferarri 575M and many others.

To you guys recommending the Mercs and BMWs... he said under 30,000. (30,000 what, I don't know, though)

That's great, but all of those are over $30,000.

    • Poll: Grand Theft Auto VI price predictions, cast your vote by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe After years of waiting, Rockstar will be solidifying the launch date of Grand Theft Auto VI with the launch of pre-orders next week. While the studio has confirmed a date for this occasion, it is yet to attach a price to the highly anticipated game. So let's see what our readers think it will cost at launch. The Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders will kick off on June 25 for digital and physical editions. Unless some last-minute changes happen, the release date will be November 19, 2026, across Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, there's still no information about a PC version from the developer or the publisher Take-Two. Now the question becomes, how much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost at launch? The game is predicted by some analysts to be the biggest launch of an entertainment product ever. With the amount of hype that has been built behind it and with ballooning development costs, Take-Two may price this Grand Theft Auto entry differently from other AAA titles. The current price of a AAA game is $69.99. That norm almost rose to $79.99 before calming down. But with such a massive release, Grand Theft Auto VI may be the game that pushes the boundary again. It's also possible that Take-Two keeps the price relatively low to increase the number of players that jump in early and keep them hooked on Grand Theft Auto Online to spend on microtransactions for years to come. Keep in mind that the below poll is asking for a prediction of the standard edition price, not a deluxe or any other special edition that Take-Two will introduce for additional benefits. Also, there is the chance of the company splitting up the campaign and online portions. If you think that will happen, put your vote on what you think will be the total cost of the two. Poll Poll: How much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost? $59.99 $69.99 $79.99 $89.99 $100 or more Submit Vote If you have a very specific prediction in mind, sound off in the comments below.
