[Official] Warhammer Online

Wonder if someone can answer a question. I found this on shacknews

Unlike the beta that is currently underway, any progression made during the "head start" program will be retained whenthe PC MMO officially launches on September 18,

Does that mean, if I get my char to say, level 18 and then the game is released. My char, belongings etc will all be deleted? If thats true, I shall wait for the final version before I waste my time.

Any leveling, questing, RvRing in the Open Beta will be gone once the game is released. The head start (14th for LE, 16 for SE) will stay, all characters and leveling will follow you into the release of the game on the 18th.

open beta stuff will be GONE !

Head start items lvls anything like that will be carried over to release

As a level 5 engineer I find the easiest way to level is to RvR, plant a sentry and just let it shoot away, then add a little fire with the rifle. Then per match I will normally kill someone of a very high rank (just from luck) and get like 1/4 to a 1/2 of my exp bar per RvR :p

Mine is patched to 1.0.3.10 and I got into the game, but at the title screen I only got the 4 buttons (cinematic etc...) and the square on the right was blank with no server list to the left. So I quit, tried to relaunch and now the patcher gets stuck at starting product patch (even though its at 100%) and sends me back to the login screen saying authorization failed :s

EDIT: Ok now I get the server list but it seems that they are doing something to them, just have to be patient :(

I don't believe anyone answered my question.

Can you rename/move the installation folder for Warhammer? (at least the beta one?)

I think you can, but you might have to re-run the setup executable to set the reg settings, etc. back up. (just a guess)

When I DL'ed the beta from Fileplanet, at least that's what I had to do.

Speaking of that, Fileplanet has opened the Open Beta access to ALL Fileplanet users, which implies even the free users!

I am going to be made, I can't find any store around my area that has the CE of Warhammer that I can pre-order, nor any of them telling me they are even getting it. I want to play in the early access but now not sure if I will be able too. ARg i hate stores lol

Just bite the bullet and get the normal edition, so you get access on the 16th.

Oh and by the way, EU patcher is still down - Arrrrg! ( WAAAGH!! .. ? )

Yup, its getting annoying.

Anyone know if those that recieved keys from a friend (my friend got 4 spare keys..I got one) will have their accounts still when the game is released, or will I actually have to buy it?... xD

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
