I've had good experiences with the bittorrent client called Halite :D Does what it should do without any bloating :)

You have 3 threads running with the exact same question all a few minutes apart :38, :44, :49

Get a router that can support p2p, something that can run dd-wrt is best bet most likely.

Yeah alot of routers tend to die when it comes to BitTorrent.. or even you computer can open too many connections than the limit set into the OS.

I'm actually running uTorrent now and I've got a fair few "TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts." errors in the Event Viewer, so I've tried tweaking the settings so even fewer connections can be established.

Its not the total number of connections that the issue with 4226 errors, it the number that utorrent attempts to make at any one time, ie the half open ones -- lower the number from 8 to 6 or 4

As many have stated its your router, I actually used to have the same one until about a year ago bought a WRT54GL and slapped dd-wrt firmware and now it currently runs tomato firmware. At 1483 reviews with 5 eggs, I think it speaks for itself that this wont be something you would regret buying especially if your having troubles with your current one, which if i recall had no user interface at 192.168.1.1 or whatever equivalent that would be on your network to change router settings.

Ah, I see. I bumped it down to 6 and things actually are alot snappier and speedier (Y).
