"Summer 2009"? I don't think so! I also hear that there will be a Superman trilogy but also other stories of Superman vs. Batman down the road... I am a big Superman fan and I hate to see it delayed. It needs to be more gritty like Batman Begins.

Superman vs. Batman? Paa..lease.

it's been talked about alot actually, all rumors though. bale said he would not do it from what i read. if they do reboot this franchise id like to see tom welling have a chance at it, IMO he is as good if not better than brandon.

Warner Brothers and DC Lose Certain Superman Rights

Warner Brothers and DC comics have lost a little bit of Superman, and could lose him completely come 2013. Judge Stephen Larson has given Superman's co-creator Jerry Siegel rights to additional works in the franchise, including the first two weeks of the daily Superman newspaper comic strip and early issues of both Action Comics and Superman comics. According to Variety, this means that the Siegel estate now owns the rights to all depictions of Superman's origins from the planet Krypton, his parents Jor-L and Lora, Superman as the infant Kal-L, and the launching of the infant Superman into space by his parents as Krypton explodes and his landing on Earth in a fiery crash.

What this means for Warner Brothers and DC Comics is that they've lost a little more control over certain aspects of the Superman character. DC still owns other important elements like Superman's ability to fly, the term kryptonite, the Lex Luthor, Jimmy Olsen and Perry White characters, Superman's vision powers and expanded origins. The main point to this lawsuit is figuring out how much the Siegels are owed from profits WB and DC collected from Superman since 1999, when the heirs legally took back half of the Superman copyright.

In a statement, the two companies said, "Warner and DC Comics are pleased that the court has affirmed that the vast majority of key elements associated with the Superman character that were developed after Action Comics No. 1 are not part of the copyrights that the plaintiffs have recaptured and therefore remain solely owned by DC Comics." That is all well and good, but copyright law dictates that full ownership of Superman goes back to the Siegels in 2013. This will give the Siegels the chance to set up Superman pics, TV shows and other projects at another studio away from Warner Brothers.

In order to get a new Superman or even Justice League film featuring the superhero off the ground, Warner Brothers and DC will have to get the project into production by 2011.

**** it, go out with a bang WB, make a JLA epic. You already have Green Lantern and Batman cast. Hell, cast Adrian Grenier as Aquaman... lol

no they don't...Christian Bale doesn't want to do a JLA movie...hence why when they were talking about it a year or so ago (whenever the hell it was) it was going to have a totally different cast than the stand-alone movies...which is/was a terrible idea...at least Marvel is attempting to make the Avengers correctly...

James McTeigue, one of the directors rumored to be in the running to direct the next Super-movie, says if he did handle Superman, he's take him in a totally new direction, one you wouldn't expect. The only other hint he offered was this:

I think it's good that they just had a court case where, basically, if you make another Superman movie, you can't touch Superman growing up-that's part of the story that you can't touch any more. That wouldn't be a bad thing. I think everybody's a bit sick of seeing the origin story.

    • Payday 2 engine upgrade adds 64-bit and DX11 support, drastically shrinks install size by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Payday 2, the most popular entry in the heisting game franchise, is getting a surprising update after all these years. This is slated to be a complete engine upgrade that will enhance almost every aspect of the 13-year-old title, targeting performance, loading times, file size, rendering backend, and more. Developer Sidetrack Games is planning a beta to test out the new version ahead of the full public launch. The development team today revealed that the long-awaited upgrade to the 64-bit architecture is happening with this Diesel 3.0 engine update. By letting the game use more ram than 4GB, it is said to improve stability and compatibility on most hardware. It should also help modders in the long term with implementing larger changes too. "While many of the changes are made on the backend and not everything will be visible to you guys because it is a massive rewrite of the entire codebase, there will be a lot of things that you can look forward to," Sidetrack explained. Payday 2 will also hop over from DirectX 9 to 11. Instead of visual improvements, this is slated to reduce the amount of VRAM used by the title, letting more lower-end hardware access the title and run it better. Since these changes would require a complete redownload of the game anyway, Sidetrack says it has revamped "the game's packaging and bundling system." This should reduce the installation size from 86GB to 32GB. "So, now it's time to finally move the game to your SSDs," added the studio. The Payday 2 Diesel Engine 3.0 update is entering open beta on June 30 for Steam users. No console release plans were announced today. Sidetrack Games says it has been working on this complete rewrite of the codebase for the last nine months. While these changes should break most mods, the studio encouraged modders to use the beta period to repair their creations with support from the development team.
    • From the incredibly asinine idea of disposable AI datacenter satellites launching into low Earth orbit to building out yet another unnecessary mobile network, this con-man will do ANYTHING to scam investor suckers and get his stock prices up. This stinks of panic to me. Good.
