[Official] Too Human

This game is a blast... as long as you don't play a berserker. lol

First time through the game I played a human berserker and racked up a good 100 deaths. I hate the fraking Valkyrie! 2nd time through with my zerker hasn't been all that rough. Also started a defender, and made it through the entire first level (including Grendel) without dying. Things move so slow when you aren't a zerker!

Pre ordered my copy earlier this evening, I hope that Game sends them out a day or two early. I had a look at the IGN video review which persuaded me to definitely buy it, especially the co-op mode, though as mentioned here and in the video review it would be a hell of a lot better with 4 in co-op. The review makes it sound like the medic class is really defunct due to this oversight. I'll ask my friend if he is allowed to shed any light on this.

The Bio Engineer (medic) is an extremely gear dependent class, but with that said, it is still capable of dealing out extreme damage and provide some very nice healing. I have yet ran with a Bio guy as it seems they are more rarer than others, but it's defiently an okay class at 50. I know a Bio Engineer and Cyber Defender is probally the best combo to beat levels without dying. Esepcially when you start getting your epic sets.

No split screen co-op, sadly it'd be nice. Hopefully they will include that in a future patch along with 4 player co-op.

Seems like everybody has done Berserker as first character (myself included), it's defiently a fast dealing damage class. I hear Cyber Berserkers last longer, and have less chance to die, due to increase armor/health than Human ones. But I rarely die, after I mastered everything. Beat Helhiem solo, and made it to Hod on Ice Forest solo, before dying due to the massive penatly on ranged weapons, at which point I learned equip a 2hand weapon with massive damage, and fierce attack them. They can go down in 1-5 fierce's.

So I was planning on replaying that, buy I started a Cyber Defender and my friend die a Cyber Bio Engineer guy, and we are near unstopable. He's new to the game so he's got several noobish deaths, but he's learning. I've only died 3 times on him (first level only). Planning on doing World's Serpent tonight on those guys, beat that without dying and then maybe beat Helhiem with him and get the Well achievement (hopefully) and the Kill Hel with a Cyber guy, which should put me at 4th (from 23rd) on Mygamercard.net website for points in the game.

Also glad to see more people other than myself enjoying this great game. Please post you tag/class/level and I'll add ya to the list so we can get some Neowin co-op matches going!

Before anyone says, I like this game but there are few thing that keep just bothering me. One of them is the death scene is there any way to turn it off, I am freaking tired going thru that thing again and again. I think it's just me but the weapons suck big time in this game, or maybe it's just weapon to enemy ratio is screwed up. I have a question is there any way to heal yourself in midfight, cause I rearly get any health orbs in the fight.

Once you get the hang of the controls you won't die as much. The death scene is a pain in the ass and should be all the motivation you need to play better. Just take your time, and learn different combo's you can do and learn how to use each weapon, when to jump, when to dodge, etc. As you keep playing (probally by the time you beat the game SP, if not sooner) you'll know enough to avoid deaths. As to weapons, just check your armor/weapon sections and blueprint sections frequently (when no enemies are around you) and see any upgrades. Don't worry about saving all your bounty that drops plenty.

As leveling there is times that it appears to complete you shaft you in drops, and then there's time where you get overloaded and times when it's even. It's all random. Just keep playing, and try some co-op, there's more enemies, means more drops and should be easier to stay alive.

The only class that can passivly heal is Bio-Engineer. All other classes have no way to heal up, unless you level'd or you get health orbs (canisters laying around usually have 50% chance of health orbs). That's one of the biggest problems with the game, but once you learn what enemies give you DOT's (damage over time) when they die, you can start taking those out from ranged, start learning to dodge frequently, etc. health doesn't become a major isssue.

Got this game yesterday, and was playing for around 10-11hrs straight. I am currently a level 23 Champion. I find I don't really understand the combo system, but I get by.

The only thing I suspect I have done wrong is the Skill Tree, I am a major n00b at that and as mentioned think I have FUBAR'd it :( On the Class section of it I have the top three sections Immolating Blade and Kinship of Gunair at maximum (10) whilst I have Asgards Fury at 3. I chose the left path Immolating blade, which is where I think I have gone wrong, and have the Battle Slain at 3 and Thermal Mine at 4. On the Alignment I chose human, as that seemed to offer more favourable stuff for the Champion. On this skill tree I have Everburning Heart at max (5), Heros heart at 6/10 and on the right fork have Desire to overcome at 1.

If anyone can offer any adviceas to what pathiong etc, and what to level up on each first I would appreciate it.

The other thing which I don't quite grasp, is the equipment specifically weapons and armour, I tend to just swap out and use everything that has the highest rating, whilst it may work, I am not sure it is the best method. Weapons I am currently using Imperial Skyscreamer Sword which has a damage value of 562 (511+10%) this is coloured orange. Most of my armour is coloured orange too and is named Proficient. Again if someone could offer any advice with regard to whart all the little stats and things mean wwith each of the weapons/armour, it would be appreciated, as well as what all the different coloured versions mean, white, green, cyan, purple, orange etc.

Thanks for anyoe offering help :)

You can re-spec the skill as much as you want, it just gets expensive. I can't tell ya much about the Champion class other than check out toohuman.net or some other forums that have a higher intresest rate than Neowin in Too Human. I played one to 10 and that's it.

Human alingment is for big combo's. So keep chugging away and you'll learn how to pull off all the moves to get a big combo. You build up a Combo system by the number of times you hit a guy melee, and how many times you shoot a guy while he's in the air (air juggling). Ruiners and your Spider do not count towards your Combo. There should be a number in the bottom left that you should see counting upwards, and something else next to it. I'm Human and it's Effiencey, so yours might be the same. That's your Combo count. You only have a few seconds before it resets so you got to keep hititng.

White, Gree, Cyan, Purple, Orange, Red. Red is elite. Can't remember what the others are called, but Red is Elite, not epic. Some people will refer to it as epic, but it's elite, I belive epic is purple. The color determines the rarity and how good the armor is. White is bad, Red is best. As your leveling I focused on the amor stat only and my total armor. If either of them increased or had a minor decrease I would then see what kind of bonsus I get from the armor (rune slots). You need to pick armor that focuses on your attributes. Total Armor, Health, Expernice Bonus, Loot Drop Chance, or never bad runes while you level. If your spec'd into swords and use swords, could also use runes that add to sword damage, sword fierce range, or increase damage and range of your gun.

Thanks for the tips, that leads me to another area I don't understand, not the runes, the other things ... charms (sorry had to check :))I have two charms I have powered up, if thats the right terminology, in that I have done what it requires, kill 100 enemies and find 10 wells etc. but I haven't got a clue what to do after that :(

Ahh well, I'm ging to watch this film and then start playing again, but I doubt I will be up till 7:30am again like this morning :)

Insert the runes on the charms. Each Charm has a certain symbol(s) that require runes to complete it to get the bonus effect. Only level one charms (white) require runes. Level two charms (purple) require completed level one charms to be put in. Level three charms (red) require completed Level Two charms.

Wish I could offer some tips, I havent a clue about runes and stuff, and all I do is choose the armour/weapons with the highest protection/damage rating and bin the rest :)

Hell I only found out the other day you can jump on the bacjk of the big robots :) Still don't know what to do with them though as keep getting thrown off :(

Only found that out about 5 mins ago, with your right stick move it down, your weapon will jab it, well the sword I was using at the time made it explode :D

Anyone able to tell me how to stop your character being on fire for so long, ****ing me off when something explodes near me and you lose so much health cause you're on fire for the next like 30 seconds.

Also, any tips for destroying those damn spiders that slam to the ground to give off some attack that's a purple colour, really annoying me!

I can certainly see why lots of people are disappointed. There?s no explanation to speak of about how to customize the weapons and armor and how to use runes once you started collection them. They just tell you this button to move forward and this button to attack that?s it.

Also the controls are horrible, I know I have to get use to it but still it has the worst control system in a game I had played recently. I agree with one of the reviews (ign or gamespot) this game is trying to be everything for everyone and it fails horribly at that.

Yes, it is very poor at explaining. It tells you a few things in the first 5 minutes of the game then nothing else. I still have no idea what Runes:so :s

How do I get Dual-Wield also? Saw them in the weapon store but I could not equip them.

    • Microsoft finally admits its default Windows 11 25H2, 24H2 action broke key legacy component by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. So far the company has acknowledged two known issues that have popped up after the release which include bugged-out Office apps as well as the Recycle Bin; though there could be more at play too. Speaking of bugs and issues, Microsoft seems to have finally acknowledged a problem that probably has been around for close to a year. That's because back in July of 2025 the company made a default change to the latest Windows 11 versions, wherein it switched to JScript9Legacy on Windows 11 24H2 and later releases. Hence following the release of version 25H2 in October 2025, JScript9Legacy also remained default-enabled. As a result there has been a compatibility issue ever since then. For those wondering, by switching to JScript9Legacy Microsoft intended to improve the security of modern Windows PCs by reducing vulnerabilities tied to legacy scripting like cross-site scripting (XSS), among others. XSS exploits can allow cyber-attackers to attach malicious code onto legitimate websites and use them to execute the code when a potential victim loads such a website. Hence the new JScript9Legacy engine enforced stricter execution policies and improved object handling, which should help mitigate such attacks. Microsoft today has published a new support article detailing the problem. Neowin spotted it while browsing. The company says that JScript global definitions and execution context may fail to persist across scripts, potentially breaking older dependent apps and web-based components that relied on this legacy behavior. In the article Microsoft has confirmed that the issue stems from its move away from the older jscript9.dll engine in favor of jscript9legacy.dll. As mentioned above, while the newer engine was designed to address vulnerabilities and strengthen security it also changes how JScript handles execution context. As a result functions and definitions loaded by one script could no longer remain available to subsequent scripts once execution ended. The company notes that some applications worked correctly on earlier Windows versions because the older JScript engine automatically retained global definitions and execution state between scripts. Under the newer model though that behavior is disabled by default causing certain legacy workloads and polyfill-dependent scripts to fail. Microsoft says it addressed the problem via the KB5077241 update though the fix had not been enabled automatically in the following updates. As such admins must explicitly turn on persistent JScript execution context using a Registry setting that the tech giant shared today. The configuration can be applied to individual processes or system-wide through the FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE registry key. The steps have been outlined below: Run the following command to create the feature control registry key: reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE" Under this key, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value. Configure the value as follows: To enable persistence for specific processes only: Set the value to 1 for each target process name. To enable persistence for all processes: Add * as the key name and set its value to 1. You can find the official support article here on Microsoft's website.
