If you won the lottery what would your dream pc be

Recommended Posts

I'd probably buy a medium-high range computer and just upgrade it more often. Reason being, Buy a top of the range super dooper PC today, and in a weeks time it'll no longer be top of the range, so you would have spent all that extra money for nothing.

If I win the lottery, it won't make me wasteful.

Too bad you can't get a higher end Gfx card, Quad SLI while your at it, and you forgot blu-ray to future proof hehe

Trying to "Future proof" is a big waste of money on either Mac or PC.

It's not really future proofing when the technology is current... like Blu-Ray.. if you can afford it might as well get it over a straight out DVD player...

Looks like a bunch of people already beat me to it... If I won the lottery, I wouldn't give a flying crap! Though eventually I would probably get an absolute top of the line ThinkPad, like I am running now. Or a real nice stationary display like a 24" Apple Cinema (I've worked with plenty of 30" ones and the neck strain is terrible). As far as actual PC specs, who cares? Anything you get today is already old tomorrow, and it's long since even the most basic of computers can easily do 90% of what they're used for. Do I really need 128 cores to listen to an MP3 or check my email? Or even play games?

VoodooPC Envy and Omen - With the best specs of course.

Or just buy the best and make it myself cause it's fun :p So what If I mess up, buy more stuff, hah.

Having realized what I just said, I'd open an advanced savings account for the rest of my life. And buy a PC with my hard earned cash.

better question is, why would you waste the money on a *killer pc* with no games to play?

Is that a typo I think you meant *PS3* didnt you?

PCs (Personal Computers) can do so much more, not all of us are gaming only, some of us need high end PCs to create productive things e.g. music creation, graphic artwork, 3D graphic work for your games, the list is endless mate.

Me personally I wouldnt have 1 killer pc id have every room kitted out with media stations (gaming capable also for when my mates are round for some housewide lan gaming ;))big tfts or hd projectors same tunes piped throughout the house and a central server controlling all aspects, from lighting, email web proxy etc etc to security systems, and an acoustic free digital studio room but im a tech/synth freak so......:p

@C++ I get where your coming from on 30"s the largest I can tolerate without strain is a pair of 28"s on my workstation desk @work. I had to turn the brightness down to minimal because I felt I had rosy cheeks or sunburn! lol

What about whatever comes after Blu-Ray? Blu-Ray hasn't really even taken off yet, but that's another debate.

Look at the current gen of Intel processors - penryn. Pretty soon Nelahelm will be coming out, and already your technology is outdated. You can go on with graphics cards. Sure, technology always changes.

    • Limited Prime Day deal sees Amazon Echo Show 11 is at its lowest price yet by Ivan Jenic The Amazon Echo Show 11 is currently $149.99 on Amazon during Prime Day, down from $219.99. That's 32% off and $70 saved on Amazon's newest mid-size smart display (purchase link below). As its name suggests, the Echo Show 11 features a 11” Full-HD touchscreen, which is a decent upgrade over the Echo Show 8. It offers 60% more viewing area, which makes a genuine difference for recipes, calendars, video calls, or any other scenario where the smaller display can feel a bit cramped. The Show 11 is built around Alexa+, Amazon's more capable AI assistant that can handle natural conversation. You can make reservations, order groceries, and find content based on your preferences, instead of always having to give it precise commands. There’s also the Omnisense technology, which adds ambient awareness, allowing the device to trigger routines based on temperature, presence detection, or visual cues. Smart home control is built in without needing a separate hub, and the home screen doubles as a photo slideshow when not in use. Taking all of this into account, the Show 11 is a perfect smart addition to your kitchen counter or living room. At $149.99, this is a strong Prime Day buy for anyone already in the Amazon ecosystem or looking to build one out. • Dang that sucks. I just started using this feature instead of Pushbullet.
    • I use my devices until the very end. I used my old desktop computer for 16 years, my OnePlus 5T phone for 8 years and my LG Gram laptop for 7 years. Even though they are still working, there are no more security updates for most of them (Windows 7 ESU, Android 12 ROM and the LG Gram because I wanted an ARM based laptop).
