Oh, come on, you all saw it coming.

Question: Why not the NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 1.5GB? It's only an extra $2400 or so?

I think I would get about the same system, though. :p I like the look, I like the horsepower.

Not sure I would go with the same OS, though...

I wonder how well it would run crysis?
The Roadrunner uses Red Hat Enterprise Linux along with Fedora as its operating systems
Something tells me that it wouldn't run Crysis. At all.

If I win the lottery a PC is the last thing I'll buy. I'll get a house, an awesome car, a house for my mom, travel to all the countries I want to visit then when I get back I'll get a Mac Pro with everything :p

You play Crysis? I never imagined you were a gamer :p

Sorry. Linux user here.

(no, that is not "sorry Linux user here" with "sorry" used as an adjective) :ermm:

About as "gamer" as I get are the UT2k4 and Doom3 Demo (it wasn't enjoyable enough for me to want to buy) on my Linux box.

Some English lessons wouldn't hurt either  jk

im from israel, and btw, that was intentional. (like all my mistakes), and just showing that im new an autoCorrect douchebag even though i have Office 2007 which i offically (Not) Bought (pirat... e-bay'ed)

I'd buy a 2000$ price range computer, should run all the games at max graphics for the next 3 years.

My goal would be to have no moving parts WHATSOEVER (except CD/DVD/Blu-ray). Passively cooled power supply, flash Hard drives and the rest would all be in a case filled with cooking oil.

As for a laptop, I'd buy the PS3 laptop. I'm not sure where I could find it though, and I don't know how much whoever has it would want for it. I know its heavy, hot, and power hungry, but I'm really not satisfied with today's other mobile gaming solutions, so I'd be interested.

Uhh... $2000 wont get you crap -- many people have $2000 invested in one of their computers and still cant max Crysis out.... hell, I think the onlycomputer in the universe that can max Crysis out is online right now over @ CERN getting ready to smash some subatomic particles and create a blackhole in the middle of Switzerland which will gobble up all of the dark matter and cause a massive chain reaction which will turn every atom in the universe into the same nasty black hole...

well, thats just my crazy opinion....I could be wrong

ALienware ? oh god no -- I had one - and hated the entire year I had it until I sold it to my brother-in-law who thinks its great......LOL SUCKER !

If i won the lottery I might get a laptop to keep in touch as I travel around the world but thats about it. No super computer for me, I want to have fun with my money and not spend too much time on a computer. I would also take monthly payments for about X-amount of years and not some huge lump sum. I might go crazy with all that money at once. I would also invest some of it.

    • @goretsky I will keep those in mind for the calls we get and update our technicians with the list, im sure the list will grow and I hope there is a larger public statement on this.  Here is the statement from Huntress https://www.huntress.com/blog/klue-breach-investigation

    • New PowerToys update fixes memory leaks and other issues by Taras Buria Another bug-fixing update is available for PowerToys version 0.100. After releasing version 0.100.1 with a bunch of bug fixes and patches, Microsoft pushed version 0.100.2 to address two important issues with one of Command Palette Dock's features. With PowerToys 0.100.2, Microsoft fixed the performance meter displaying incorrect values and memory leaks, which are particularly unwanted things in the current situation with overpriced PC hardware. Here is the changelog: Reverted a Performance Monitor dock refresh change that forced item refreshes on every metric update Fixed a memory leak in the Performance Monitor dock extension by reusing stable network upload/download band items instead of creating new list items on each refresh For those unfamiliar, Command Palette Dock is a relatively new addition to PowerToys. It is a taskbar-like tool that you can keep on top of the screen to pin various useful widgets, commands, and more. It can display time, weather, your PC's performance metrics, and more. Microsoft introduced the Command Palette Dock in March 2026 in PowerToys 0.98. Microsoft has dedicated documentation for Command Palette Dock, and you can check it out on the official Microsoft Learn website. You can update PowerToys to the latest version by going to Settings > General and clicking "Check for updates." Alternatively, you can download the installer from GitHub using this link. In other news, Microsoft is working on a new window-management utility for PowerToys. Called Alt Window Cycle, it will let you use the Alt + ` shortcut to switch between different windows in a single app. You can learn more about the tool here.
